Always been dubstep?

Post by j_one » Wed Jul 29, 2009 3:59 am

Just seeing whagwan... did a lot of heads here start with dubstep? Obviously the veteran beat makers must have been on some other shit, what side of music did you come from and what got you into dubstep?

I solely produced hip hop before I got into dubstep, I'm into so many genres though, and hate limiting myself to one, love making hip hop/dubstep/2-step/dnb etc, etc.

For me it was 90's era hardcore and acid that planted the seeds of production...It wasent till the turn of the century when I could finally afford to do it. Main influences are hip hop, classic electro, ambient ect...

The lemon is a dub crazed mentalist...only dubstep, nothing else, not ever! Although the lemon tunes are quite heavily influnence by other genres. That's probably because for the man behind the lemon dubstep is but a tiny piece of the picture and has been making noises long before dubstep existed. :D

ps. talking about yourself in the third person ftw!

mike has definately learned from other style production and is why mike doesn't ask questions so much about other style influence dubstep
mike knows google and other specific forums host the answers
mike is being a dick in the third person
mike likes this
mike misses old bbs days before easy net answers when mike and peers learned from trial and error and time in library or mikes local studio making coffee and being quiet
mike feels old
mike needs social security
