no, he doesn't.
In terms of the experimentation with layered textures and beats, he does to my ears.

Red Snapper spring to mind straight away.

Just my opinion.
Don't mind Ory, he's entirely clueless.

Back on topic, that Clubroot stuff is a MASSIVE Burial ripoff.

i love clubroot.. and burial as well.. nothing wrong with having another producer making these style tunes.. i wouldnt call it a ripoff.. maybe they both like the same things, have the same interests and influences in making music.. either way.. thats just more awesomeness for my ears!

clubroot and synkro sound a bit like burial.
but the both add their own touch to the style and make it their own.
could def tell the difference.

I quite like it, yet the drums do sound that exact same 'pop' sound. But maybe that 'pop' sound is the new wobble... I don't know, fucking brilliant though. I'd go as far as to say I like this just as much. Got a lot of influences across it, that's for sure.

Do you reckon the drums have been sampled?

You can tell he isn't that good 'cause he sampled the archangel drums and then added his own kick, which ruins their flow.

that slew guy sounds like he has literally sampled the drums from archangel - they sound exactly the same as certain burial drum patterns. not just the rhythm but the percussion sounds,

but some of the is imaginative, has a nice groove and feel to it still.....
its a drum loop, ive got it
but yeah he must have sampled it cos it has the same processing as burials

I werent being negative towards these tunes, I actually really like them.
Difference with the likes of Synkro is that he has his own spin and sound.
If someone played me a Burial track I hadnt heard and a Synkro track I hadnt heard im pretty confident I could tell the difference, whereas if someone played one of these to me without hearing them before id just automatically think it was Burial

Clubroot is not a ripoff of burial in any shape or form, it is very fustrating that anything with a 2-step rhythm thats reasonably dark and emotional in tone is considered in some way a second rate burial, i.e. all the synkro winging which is just fucking stupid, end of.

I know for a FACT that burial is a fan of clubroot, the production is so different - you don't see burial pulling for the dark heavyweight system bound tunes that clubroot has at times - his bass sounds are badass!

all in all there is alot of good stuff coming otu of the woodwork in the vein, its defiantly a good thing.
