For Safari Dub the production is good, no problems there really. It's just really dry and not unique, the animal noises aren't really good ambiance, or musical for the most part and they last way too long at the start (even chainsaw calligraphy does take that much time).

cheers dude i just re uploaded it i also though yes the animal noise was not musical but was just gonna use it as an intro but was not so sure of it...
but i decided to put some pads with the animal sound am also working on a breakdown thinking of using those pads again
and another synth..

(Safari Dub)

also will work on the other track(feeling it) when i have more time..

thanks alot for your feed back!

I love the sound of your sub, but I think the lead needs some spacing out, more effects to make it sound less dry. Off for a cool track, cool use of drums I'd like to see more of this :)

I'm working on an old idea I worked out a while ago, this is how it sounds now:

http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/259728

more of a laidback song really ^^
cheers man appreciate the feedback!
I like love dubstep! haha its a sick song man.

I'd probably suggest that you look into layering your drums. It can make them much fatter. It also lets you become involved in the sound design process of your tracks :D

@Dignan-Throwback sounding good man. Get a soundcloud page for love of God man!! Myspace music sucks for reviewing tunes!!!!!!!! I still think you could beef that rimshot up just a bit too, and lay off the synth chords a bit, man, let that background pad breathe a lot more around 2:40-3:00. Also, take it easy on that vocal sample man, it's great, it's classic, it's used way too many times in your tune. Space, pace and bass homey. Good work though, great idea. Btw, I have friends from Sag Harbor, do you know Lilah Oren or Tara Murphy?

nice ideas, but i'd maybe try to get more flow in here, the samples kinda sound like they've js been inserted between two section of the music, if you try to incorporate them within the structure this will help. most tunes tend to be in 16 bar phrases, maybe with an extra occasionally through in for effect, like in house. If you listen to practically any of your favourite dub or most other types of club tunes you'll see that they're all built on 16 bar sections. Make it easy for us djs right? :P

I've spent a day workin on this, so feed would be awesome.
This has a nice sound mate, loving the samples and what you've done with them, mix is tight, loads of space in there, though i might be wanna see how that sub is on some big speakers cos it's really really low. you've got a proper tune here i reckon

nice tune, very chilled n interesting. i gotta say that on headphones the pannin on that synth is pretty extreme, felt like my head was spinning a little, but on speakers it probably sounds completely different, js thought u should know. gd tune otherwise.
LHD wrote:Newer version of my Good Feelins tune up on the soundcloud. I'm feelin really close to finished with this tune, but for some reason it's just not seeming to come together for me anymore so I'm going back to work on a coupla different tunes. Any arrangement or structure crit is appreciated. The mix is not final so the tune is a bit low volume as I've left some headroom. Most of my levels are (imo) pretty right on. Not sure why I'm not so happy with this tune anymore. A week ago I fuckin loved it!
nice tune hear man the fx and synths all work really well together and sound really original. i might concentrate on your drums a little more and get them the same quality as the rest of the elements, then your tunes would be awesome :D

mate you gotta change shit up a bit right :) production is ok but vary ur lines and rhythms yeah? definitely sounds like dubstep tho...
also glad to see you got love for the dub ruckas; they've js finished a sick remix of one of our tunes (continue?)

well you've clearly thought a lot about ur melodies, this tune has shitloads, which is nice for a change. i would consider working on your sounds, the drums are too quiet, apart from the kick which is disproportionately more powerful, the sub is also way too quiet, the sticky on mixing is awesome though and gives gd advice on this. Consider tweaking your synths more as well, some are quite preset sounding to me. enough tearing?

@ Baba, clemson and 86 cheers for the feedback, definitely gonna try and change up that lead a bit more, get some more progression in there.

if any1 else could give me their opinions that'd be cool. my track is here:

Some feedback would b great.
Cheers
only thing I'd say is to butter up the piano bit at the end, like some more delay or reverb or something

but I definitely like the vibe man, can't go wrong with hip hop flavour

sorry i'm not being extensive....but that's my take on it
Safe geezer,
I been workin on this track over the past few days and its developed quite a bit. The new versions up on the myspace.

1) gregorian womp - this is laid back dubstep... on the verge of chill out glitch?

2) in the hall of the mountain womper - edvarg grieg wompij

neither are really that close to being done, as im working on a 120bpm hiphopglitchtechfunkwompa with a 4x4 beat right now

KUATO - Coco Joe Loco (rough edit)

http://www.box.net/shared/xjk80u2q1s

Where the song ends currently, I want to take it back into the dub part but with an explosive wobble/wonky bass. I would love some feedback, specifically on the mix and on the drums. I don't know if the first part, the drums get a bit stale and what not.. also, does the sound drop a bit after the "the war against the machines" sample? I switched some drums and I can't tell if it sounds a bit empty or not.. I don't have a good pair of monitors over here. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. big ups from brooklyn.

cool synth sounds... bass needs more power - maybe add some powerful sub to it?

also, maybe a stronger kick?

i like the beginning the most :) good work.

reminds me of scientific american or something.. good stuff here

i like the vibe- its sort of eerie, distant and confusing. i would like to hear a bit more off the wall sounds every few measures and maybe more variation in that strange loop that keeps playing throughout the tune, however thats just me!

sick tune. i like the glitchyness and love the quick reverby high freq hits... i think some sub bass would really give it some power and maybe a stronger kick/snare combo (especially the snare) to give it that real BOOM power. the 2nd half of the tune reminds me of a sound tribe sector 9 tune or something. good shit man, what vsts do you use, if you dont mind me asking? this sounds really organic

Hally of da mtn kingy is pretty good, I'd mix the kick in higher, or at least layer it with another one and have the bassline mixed a bit lower (it'll translate better when it's loud). I'd try to change the arrangement up too, just to have some sections without the bass blaring to make it more progressive.

worked on this, very juju style thing
