Ableton Live - mapping keys and playback editing

hey, i used to use reason, but a few months ago got ableton live cause i wanted to use some vst's. anyway, i have a nice synth wobble, and am wondering if theres an easier way of what im trying to do.

basically i want to have my wobble going from (for example) 1/4 then to 1/8 quickly then to 1/2 then back to 1/4 etc.etc. now, is there a way of mapping any random key on my keyboard to a specific setting on my VST? (albino3 for example) so when im playing back and recording i can hit the key for it to switch to that timing then back again?

OR is there a way for me to edit these settings within live?

at the moment im having to layer up about 5 of the SAME albino sound that i've made, each with different LFO timings and playing a single note separately on each track -_- there MUST be an easier way than this!!

3. twist dial
4. close midi map

two ways....

you can map a range of midi notes or ctrls to a knob by entering midi map mode, press and hold one key, then the next key an octave or so up (or whatever) to designate the range and let go of both after that

you have mapped 1-127 to that range so when you hit a key it changes the CC value accordingly. works a bit better in Hertz mode however, you may have to fiddle with the range a bit.

or....

you can read up on dummy clips and have the pre designated value for each 1/4 1/8 1/16
on a clip that is functioning solely for that purpose... so when you launch each clip the LFO rate changes to the specified one...

i haven't got the hang of the second way too much but the ableton forums should be alot of help there. you can even save that setup so you only have to do it once


or you could just put it on a knob. or even still resample and slice to drum rack where theres a LFO and filter per sample slot.
