Eve-Me and My [Benga-E Trips]

From Dj Semtexs blog:

From Swizz Beats Twitter account, it looks like they are back in the lab.

This is from one of the sessions that she did with the UK’s very own Benga & Salaam Remi in Miami earlier this year. Eve tries to spit over the ‘E trips’ riddim from Benga’s smash debut album.

It’s cool that she spits on this, but she doesn’t kill it. Sounds like she needs help with the flow. In fact, it sounds like Busta wrote it for her…..

Regardless Benga is one of the UK’s hottest producers, and the Dubstep sound is going to get bigger in 2010.

LOL

this sounds like absolutely nothing was written down.

"me n my bitches up in the club"

not a chance

I didnt mind Eve back when she was more popular. Compared to what's going on now, what was coming out from double R in those days is heavenly.

What a fucking joke.

How can these people (Eve, Snoop etc) get away with taking the original, leaving it exactly the same, recording some terrible rap over the top of it and calling it something else.

Leave it the fuck alone unless you're gunna do something with it.....

this crossover business is increasingly beginning to sound like a competition of who can make the shittest tune.

edit - this is currently winning by the way

Back in the dayz we used to sit cross legged in a circle at DMZ and signal the DJ with joss sticks.

thats just 'versioning', like in dancehall...

i dont imagine benga was actually there when she recorded this like semtex says. its probably just a case of her being given the beat and rearranging it slightly and vocalling it.
