I play the old ones faster and the new ones slower so as to give them psychological difficulties
I prefer the accelerando approach from barely moving to PCPgabba within the bar if possible, stops the crowd getting complacent.
And Bedward and Subframe are both right, but in slightly different ways. I'll do a pie chart in an effort to explain

I find it better when you play dubsstsssstttttssstep with a really thick layer of hardened ear wax spread over the record. It really make the dance feel the force.....BOSH drills help if you want the AFX style effect.
