Were back in the Garvey in October/November and they've refurbed it so it looks the part now too! Keep your eyes pealed for some more Exodus/Misst nights on Iration Steppas too
p.s - Heavyweight Rocksteady hasn't had a mention!? All about N-type b2b Benga in late 06 (i think) in the Maze...shout to all who remember!

I'm moving to nottingham shortly and i've heard its got a decent dubstep scene, but how big is it? Currently living in london you can find a fucking banger almost every weekend without fail and those midweek dub nights come along every now and again are always a treat. is there a big scene with consistent good nights that pull in big names or is still a little more underground?
both really, but of late there seems to be a bit of a bad vibe at some of the ones with big names playing. the more underground ones are the ones you wanna be reachingOttoLag wrote:I'm moving to nottingham shortly and i've heard its got a decent dubstep scene, but how big is it? There are some big nights and sick producers that have been surfacing over the past year or so especially in notts.
BUT yeah misst definately caught that dmz vibe each and every, have missed having misst on the regular(PUN!). The system was always tight in there, and given how many heads there are in notts nowadays once they start up again they should be back for good! There was always room to dance and be a bellend. AND the lineups were immense!
Cant big up Futureproof & Wigflex & Rubberdub enuff for bringing a unique vibe (all totally different from each other though).
Basslaced is good, but they havent been creative with lineups AT ALL, they have the f*ing tempa allstars on rotation i swear! But atleast theyve been running on the regular!
--Breakage was siiiick if anyone caught that (only about 80 people turned up for the social for 2 hours of breakage, PURE DARKOUT)
Would love to see the reprogression/in fine style/future garage guys put on a stonking monthly/bi-monthly night.
What i like about Notts aswell is: although everyone is doing their own thing, at the same time, everyone overlaps and doesnt give each other beef for being into different things (unless they make shitty gritstep).
ALSO ALSO ALSO:
Keep you eyes peeled for DUBWEIGHT starting ont he 4th of september, we're a group of old heads that want things to be dark, with a system brought in from outside (i.e no shitty in-club systems), cheap red stripe, great lineups (theyll be announced soon actually), good vibes, bare pum pum and erm goody bags.
so so so many good labels startig up in notts aswell over the last 18 months or so but ive been ranting like a real dubstep forum nob so ill stop now. i hope i put everything important in bold
biggles nottingham

they brought you Martyn, Bass Clef, Joker, Peverelist, Appleblim, Darkstar, Brackles and tonnes more.. way before anyone in the midlands even clocked their existence.
they also had a second room which played Techno etc way before the Tech/Dubstep thing went global
and the vibe is good. and the system they use is one of the best you'll hear/feel...
