lol didn't know it came from "master of ceremonies"

bet the guy who invented that term had an ego the size of a planet

someone prove me wrong and tell me it was some humble monk from a peaceful mountain tribe somewhere

edit: wiki'ed it, the catholic church really?

I always thought It was the mc (if there is one)'s job to control the mic (hence the name mic controller)
I hope everyone else realizes it's master of ceremonies . . .
Lol yeah I was just thinking this... Although I like the term Mic controller better.

In hip hop djing it used to be an essential skill for the dj to talk to the crowd but in other styles it seems to have been less important.

I think its more important to move with the records as you mix, dance a little behind the decks, make eye contact with people in the crowd, throw arms in the air on drops etc show some emotion and the crowd get on your side much easier than if you just had your head down mixing away.

N-Type is the master of this. He is so energetic behind the decks it is infectious and the crowd just love it. He is the top dj on the scene at the moment imo. Technically perfect and a top showman too.

Christ........ maybe I should just go out with him or something

Peace

You mean hide the microphone  Fuck a drunk motherfucker on the mic.

One of my proudest moments as a promoter is when my boy said he was bringing an MC with him but he needed a chord. I purposely left the chord at home

In a perfect world the only thing that would matter is what is coming out of the speakers. In the old days of clubs dj's used to not be visible to the dancers. Should be that way imo. I have seen quite a few dj's blow up over the years that had a nice hairdo that they could swing around. So whack. And don't get me started on female DJ's. If you are a girl and have skills, I am not talking about you. To the chicks that make a grand a night because they have nice tits, fuck off. Go get a residency at a strip club. I am rambling on now
