Where my travellers at?

Well, im not one of them...but heading out to india for a couple of weeks beginning of september, and while im fully expecting laaaaarge amounts of shitting/throwing up (do have some apparently tits anti sickness tings though) I was thinking, going vege for the 2 weeks is probably the best bet? Dunno why really, I just kind of figured its the one.

While im here, I spose has anyone got any tips for india in general? Were flying in to Goa, and making our way up towards hampi, and possibly (havent really got any plans) Nepal at some point. On the lookout for anywhere inbetween that might be worth the looky loo!

Just dont have any plans really, throw some ideas at me ninjians!

You won't really have a choice with the vege thing, nobody eats meat there!

I'd give you some tips, but i've only ever done the north of India, all I can say is it's going to be really hot and you will get ill probably, don't give money to beggars and don't buy weed or do anything dodgy unless you are fully out the way of the city and sketchy cops.

also, haggle all the time, anything you want to buy or pay for will be jacked up to a stupid price.. it's your duty to haggle like fuck and laugh at them when they put a price on something, i also recomend walking away laughing.. that usually gets them to settle for a better price.

nice one man, i've always wanted to go to india, i've been on a little mission myself recently went to Norway then to Argentina then to Brazil then to Uruguay and back to the UK and im going to spain Majorca TONIGHT!! YAY!!!

Basically, the tickets we have are open returns up to a year I think, but basically im meant to be in clinic the whole time im away...its literally just the longer I go for, the more problems theres going to be with uni

I was thinking of suggesting 3 weeks to auria, or even 2 and a half or something...I dunno, I do just definitely have the feeling that 2 weeks aint gonna be a thang.

Heres hoping I dont get toooo into it, sack off the final year and join the other lazy stnuc pretending to be hippies in Goa.

Don't take Immodium it fooooks you up something proper. You're much better releasing the nastiness than being constipated for two weeks. Eat what's piping hot and untouched by human hands (i mean after it's finished cooking) and you should be good.

oooohh, again hadnt really thought of that. There is a reason youre body wants this stuff out of you asap! Ill have to try find the name of the stuff weve got, i cant quite remember, we did find out what it was but the label was torn off...Maybe "or...xicilin hcl" or something similar to that?

And yeah were flying out there with a couple guys we dont really know who are staying out there for months, and just gonna kind of see what happens. I do just know me and her will travel so well together. Both well up for just not really having a plan and seeing what happens.
This isnt some big pimping plan to create the perfect white sandy beach palm tree sunset moment or whatever by the way

if anythings gonna happen itll happen before then, just know we'll have a sick time basically! Soooo farking excited about it!

I went and ate anything from roadside stands, people selling food on trains, all sorts didnt get sick once. My girlfriend got dysentery from a dominos pizza tho.
Go to the paradiso club, anjuna on wednesdays after anjuna market's when its most happening ALL psy-trance tho.
If your in an area for a long amount of time, just use one taxi driver they'll sort u out anything u want and if u stay wiv em u get a bargain aswell.
Stay away from 'country-liquor' shit'll make you blind.
For the best food hit up the beach huts. Got a prime bit of chateau brion with onion rings, chips, cauliflower cheese, mushrooms etc. pretty wierd for a country full of hindus.
Other than that... have a sick time

Right, im currently trying to work out the indian railway website place, and it aint half hard work lol

Thinking of flying into mumbai, and getting the train down to Goa. Should take about 10 hours overnight which aint too bad, but im wondering if anyone knows how much thats going to cost roughly? I really have no frame of reference at all, and the website isnt being particularly useful.

We talking like 10/20 quid or so?

Going vege probably isn't gonna help much. It's probably the water that'll get you anyway, go for bottled water.

While it's probably better to shit any crap out, it might not always be convenient! You know, like when you're having that moonlit stroll that you're not planning and find you're being followed by a gaggle of beggar kids. So Imodium could come in handy. Also, medication for stomach aches which won't stop you crapping but at least make pain go away for a bit.

my friends just got back from india and they got the train from goa to delhi for around a tenner and thats 35 hrs. so woldn't think mumbai - goa would be expensive. Also in Goa check out a bar on the beach I think its called krusties they let out cheap villas on the beach. and have other things than booze behind the bar

And on a (possibly connected) note, is it going to be fairly easy to pick up some smoke/md at a full moon party? Once again just kind of...assumed

Any thoughts on little things that might be dam useful while out there? Sure ill put together a list at some point, but I bet theres the little things travel vets will know about. Ive had people suggest taking a sleeping bag, but im figuring fuck that? Will be staying in hotel type places most of the time I figure, and im guessing at night its going to be hot as fuck anyway. I sleep on the covers in bastard south wales...

Heres a question actually. 65 litre rucksack going to be decent enough size?

you can get sheet sleeping bags from most outdoor type places....basically a sheet you can get inside. worth taking one of those along, they take up no room and some hostels will charge you for sheets

Yes its all you really want to be hiking about with. I was in Thailand for a bit last year and took a 45 l rucksack which my girlfriend said would never be enough but i had the last laugh when she was struggling humphing about a 100 l fucker (she wouldn't let me take it so i could say "i told you i would be carrying this bastard about" thank fuck.
I also bought a small cheap holdall while over their near the end of the trip and stocked up on fake stussy t-shirts, that have since fallen apart
