Dubstep is actually 70 BPM that's what make it seem slow, the syncopation is what make it seem faster.Tripwire22 wrote:I love dubstep and im pretty sure 140 bpm is faster than techno its the half step that makes it seem slow
@ the op: Sorry mate Im not sure if Im just missing the point here but Im baffled as to what you are trying to achieve with this thread......
Dubstep is the music that I have ben waiting all my life to hear. Im not a wannabe bad boy (too old for that now) and Im not a bandwagon jumper, obviously I cant speak for others but there you go.......
Did you really join the forum just to ask a question like this?
As I said before...... baffled.
Peace

DUBSTEP NEW

Its only new to the mainstream its been arround since 2002 maybe earlier.
Personally i got into it through the progression of the garage and grime scene, and like somebody else wrote why would we spend so much time mixing listening and producing something we dont like.
Its only idiots who think they are bad or kool or whateva because they listen to a specific type of music.
Personally i think dubstep, grime, bassline, funky and all the other sub genres of garage should still be classed as garage. Just like you get differnt types of DnB but it is all still classed as DnB. That way our scene would be alot stronger and appeal to a much wider audience.
I blame wiley for all these sub genres, after he made what you call it about 10 differnt names for grime/garage came about.
RANT OVER

Nha mate Dubstep is 140bpm its just the fact it is half step, so it seems 70BPM.Daft tnuc wrote:Dubstep is actually 70 BPM that's what make it seem slow, the syncopation is what make it seem faster.Tripwire22 wrote:I love dubstep and im pretty sure 140 bpm is faster than techno its the half step that makes it seem slow

Re: Does anyone actually like dubstep?
really guys? no need to debate this....they are the same....you can write double time at 70 or half time at 140....djsupple wrote:Nha mate Dubstep is 140bpm its just the fact it is half step, so it seems 70BPM.Daft tnuc wrote:Dubstep is actually 70 BPM that's what make it seem slow, the syncopation is what make it seem faster.Tripwire22 wrote:I love dubstep and im pretty sure 140 bpm is faster than techno its the half step that makes it seem slow
im sure everyone would write to 70 if the metronome wasnt so sparse but its just easier to work at 140
and lets not forget...FL stock tempo is 140

It's not for everybody. If you need it watered down go listen to electro.
Dude, too legit. Too legit to quit. So legit to post a question like that in a PRODUCTION FORUM.Mico Viejo wrote:the OP may have been trolling, but actually its a perfectly legit thread subject and a shame it had to end up being another fucking boring load of alpaca pics. the jokes wearing a bit thin these days
