Free Kontakt Player from Native Instruments

Post by pshtt » Tue Aug 11, 2009 6:42 am

Free Kontakt Player (for Mac & PC) from Native Instruments is available for download from NI website:

http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... kt-player/

About the limitations:

"...the Kontakt Player offers full-featured playback only for Kontakt Player libraries and for the new "Kontakt-Powered" instruments, while plain Kontakt libraries only run in a 30 minute demo session. Using these libraries fully is still reserved to the full Kontakt 3 version..."

Oh, and the free Factory Selection Library as well:

the limitations of this have been heavily debated over on KVR, and the final word seems to be: its actually not that interesting. i really want Kontakt 3 but aint got the cash right now so this seemed ideal, unfortunately it turns out not 2b worth installing just to run a few preset libraries that NI give away with it. other than that its just the same as having a kontakt 3 demo installed that times out. not a huge lot of use, 2 me at least...

Kontakt Player can also load 3rd party libraries. It just can't save your tweaks...

I use it to load some Loopmasters sample packs with pre-made Kontakt patches... (yes, I know, sample packs are for kids :?)
