i fucking totally agree with original poster . you guys are being pricks for no reason it seems
i think everyone is just butthurt because your "genre" is starting to sound "generic" , so whenever some noob calls it out , everyone shits their pants
inb4 flaming . i fully realize that you have to dig hard to find good stuff, but that doesnt mean homeboy isnt right in saying most of the stuff coming out all sounds the same .... . obviously the influx of all these threads is happening for a reason

nah he is wrong, there is a lot of stuff out there.
ginz, joker, and all those guys doin the melodic thing
mala, kromestar, coki, benga all putting out bangers that don't use "brutal electro" style stuff
then there's more minimal stuff like burial
We have guys like breakage doing that stuff, that's before you get into the more jungle/breaks influenced stuff that's coming in
finally you have the hiphop influence thats may/maynot get very big very quickly (no I don't fucking mean eastern jam/snoop dog
)
I am one of those twats that love that style of bass so I go looking for it and still find a huge variety of tunes before I get to it. Guys just not in the right place,
@op - for vinyl

there's an alarming trend on this site, where any criticism, even when its well warranted, is being stomped out by a wall of noise. i find it hilarious, that 60% of the time, the people constantly calling people haters, elitists and generally throwing the toys out the pram in threads like this, are the same people spamming the fuck out of this site with their productions and mixes. the ironies abound.clue wrote:the man has a point, it just seems a lot of people in this thread are taking what he's said out of proportion and making a mountain out of a molehill.

yer not lookin hard enough, thers crazy shit coming out nowadays on loads of different labels...
There is always gona be the stuff that sounds the same but like someone said, that happens with every genre.
You obviously haven't looked very hard otherwise you would notice that dubstep in fact is probably the most open genre atm influence wise and experimentation wise.
Check out Luke Envoy l, L Wiz, Komonazmuk, L-ow, Krio, Ruckspin, Vex'd, Milanese etc etc. and think about how many different sounds are just within these artists...

so a forum is a full of crazies and this is new to you??
and since when is putting up music spamming? sounds to me like you are the one trying to stomp stuff out

it is true a lot of shit is weak, and there are a lot of bandwagoners who dont quite have the same values in general as a lot of people who got into dubstep through the original crews (dub war certainly being one of them). its more than a second wave at this point its like the friken 5th or maybe even 6th or 7th wave of people converging on the tempo and riddim. some people try to make "dubstep" with a forumla and some people try to make dubstep at 135-145 range with sub bass and whatever other style they want thrown in because it feels natural. the true roots! the freedom! im not gonna say i dont love the intro drop breakdown 2nd drop outro forumla, but the shit inside of that needs to keep you on your toes and move the sound forward. if it has midrange, or uses a certain bass sound is not the issue, i think its just the overall package that can not be FORCED and i think a lot of tunes i dont buy sound very forced! buttt then again, i only hear clips on pay sites (paysites lol sounds like porn)
alls i know is its 7AM and im BROCKING hard in my bed to some new tunes when i really should be sleeping.

stomp things out? LOL. i'm one voice amongst thousands. don't be silly.-boring wrote: sounds to me like you are the one trying to stomp stuff out![]()
it sounds to me like you're getting worked up and missing the point completely. you seem to think that the scene revolves around what's said on this site. this site isn't the "scene" and never tried to be the "scene". the separation is very important, because when you start thinking about this site as if its the holy altar for this sound, you're getting off track in a big way.
people come here to "discuss" things, and when people "discuss" things , they can be critical. if that's going to ruffle your feathers then maybe there's other sites out there where you can big up everything all day long. blogs do that sort of thing well too.
is this really directed at me???seckle wrote:stomp things out? LOL. i'm one voice amongst thousands. don't be silly.-boring wrote: sounds to me like you are the one trying to stomp stuff out![]()
