Johnny Cash - American IV: The Man Comes Around

I really reckon, despite being the last album before his death, this is the best introduction to The Man In Black. He never was the best songwriter, but he was one of the best performers the world ever saw... covers of songs with serious gravity, like Bridge Over Troubled Water, Hurt and First Time Ever I Saw Your Face make this one of the best collections of his voice ever. It's not uncommon for this album to leave me utterly fucking broken... the version of Give My Love To Rose actually caused me to have to pull over on the drive into work a few years ago!

When you're done, get Live At San Quentin, Live At Folsom and the rest of the American Recordings series, but start with this....
Meus equus tuo altior est

"Let me eat when I'm hungry, let me drink when I'm dry.
Give me dollars when I'm hard up, religion when I die."

I'd never download dubstep, the first and last dubstep I downloaded was Burial by Burial and since then I've spent tonnes on vinyl, it's just for checking stuff I ain't sure about.
