Use these plugins for the type of bass you're trying to achieve and... resample, resample, resample !

For distortion :

in conjunction with ( yes, I know it sounds weird but in a chain they're a deadly combination ) :

To beef up your bassline ( then resample, and resample ) :

Download Bootsy's plug-ins. The most useful would have to be Density.

Also, I know it's been rinsed, but with PSP nitro you can achieve very subtle effects.

I can post specific tricks from my recipe book if you want, let me know.

The bass in those tunes ( very easy to achieve btw ) was made with Devastor and camelspace in a chain. Just posting these to let you know what can be done with them before you go through the trouble of acquiring them and installing them.

Modus operandi : My starting point was a beefed up saw taken from a hardware synth. I played a pattern... sent the bassline through a filter, hi-passed it, sent it through psp nitro, resampled, layered the resampled bass on top of the original then sent everything through devastor, camelspace, psp nitro in a chain, resampled, then resampled some more.

Not the mastered versions btw

I'm not a reference in production ( as if, lol ), but as I said, just posting these so you know what's possible with these plugs.

Wave-Shapers can be used on bass to get some really grotty sounds. Also Bit-Crunchers can be used effectively to get nice results : )
Debut album "Bass, Space, Pace & Peace" out now on Methodology Recordings!
Cheers to all supporters and those who've dropped tracks in their shows!! :e:
