New to dubstep

Post by bumjacket » Tue Nov 21, 2006 5:03 am

Hey,

I live over in the States, and just recently started hearing about Dubstep/Grime. Being a fan of Trip-Hop, a friend of mine suggested that I look into Dubstep/Grime. I picked up Boy in da Corner by Dizzee Rascal and was pretty impressed. I was wonder what are some of the essential dubstep/grime albums? Thanks

Some essential dubstep albums and compilations to choose:

All Dubstep Allstars, Horsepower albums, Skream albums, The Roots Of Dubstep, all Grime (Rephlex), Burial - Burial, Boxcutter - Oneiric, Vex'd - Degenerate, Science Faction: Dubstep, Kode9 & the Spaceape - Memories of the Future, Back To The Underground, Various Production - The World Is Gone, Tectonic Plates, Mary Anne Hobbs Presents The Warrior Dubz, Benga - Newstep, etc....

I know I'm missing a lot of quality albums and compilations but like Boomkat would say: "These gems will change your life... :U:"

Or a bums jacket? Which you probably nicked when said bum was sleeping off the three bottles of meth he drank earler in the day. I can't believe you would exploit a fucking drunk like that. Did you cop a quick one aswell? I bet you did you dirty little creature.

Onlly joking. Like is said up thread. All good, hope you can get hold of all that though. You might have to sell a few bums into serfdome though but, judging from you morals you won't have to much of an issue with that. So safe :D

That's perks of the job isn't it. Think we call them tramps over here, unless there are wandering arses drinking street booze. Sometimes it's difficult to tell once a decade of boozing and leathering of the skin and brain mash have sunk in. What once looked almost human now looks like a rather large scabby peach. But it might actually be a large scabby peach, just to add to the confusion.

Of course a bumjacket might just be a new word for undertrouser as the delinquents would have it.
Hmm....

Why not just jump in the audio forum and grab yourself some mixes, before going out and spending money on something you might not like...

I reckon the Burial album is the best dubstep record so far. The allstars compilations are wicked too. Check barefiles.com for freeness :) !
