Life is about balance.  Relationships need work as well, just like working on making the best tune you can.  If you want the relationship to work, you got to spend some time with your mate.  If not, then maybe you should consider the alternative.  It won't hurt you if you are away from your machine every now and then.

It works out well because it can become a way to get to know each other better. Unless of course either person is some sort of genre-snob / scene-addict then it just ugly.
