Puppy

Post by tusk » Fri Oct 27, 2006 4:25 pm

I know Skinny Puppy has been threaded here before but I reckon they desreve all the hype they can get. Serious inspiration for the open minded listener. I stilll have yet to hear musick as unpredictable, psychedelic and weirdly "organic" although FSOL at their finer moments come close. Puppy also was heavily influenced by Dub as evidenced by Stairs and Flowers and Rivers. Big up old skool Vancouver origionators.

Isis always sounds like a pop band trying to be dark, to me, but that's just perso

Anybody into fudgetunnel? It's pretty sludgy heavy music. Plus, they're called fudgetunnel, lol.

It was NIN and Front Line Assembly for me, I still play FLA stuff regularly.

I too grew up on this stuff. Played in many a punk/metal/industrial band.
Still listen to alot of this. Good music never goes out of style! I like a lot of 'black metal' as well. Lot of 'doom/drone metal' as well. SunnO.,Boris!!

My older brother got me into Coil, Cabaret Voltaire, Skinny Puppy, Throbbing Gristle, etc... at a really early age... I think that forever warped my sense of music.

I probably wouldnt have started wanting to make electronic music if it wasn't for them. I appreciated a lot of electronic music before i heard them, but they really made me sit up and think "this is what i want to do"
