Anyone know how to stop EXS24 chaging the speed of a sample?

Post by edjrussell » Wed Sep 09, 2009 4:32 pm

I usually use kontakt but my computers playing up a bit at the moment so i think I'm going to have to reinstall kontakt but for the time being I'm using EXS24.

I'm working on a tune but want to pitch it up a couple of semitones so I'm going to have to bounce each part except for the drums and stick it in the exs24 and pitch it up.

anyone know how to do this or if the EXS 24 can even do this?

cut your sample in multiple pieces. Put it in the esx and save.

otherwise

select all samples in esx editer -> deselect pitch

deselect pitch? but then you can't change the pitch of it can you?

Can't chop the samples up, I think it would sound a bit funny, especially with my subs and stuff.

Cheers any way though man

Yeah I suppose I could use the time and pitch machine but I've always been a bit suspicious of its results. But I'll give it a go.

@Deepone just the pitch and keep the speed the same.

Maybe I should just reinstall Kontakt

Depone wrote:in logic 9, you can do this. Just get the bit of audio, Hit the flex button and right click--> convert to EXS instrument. The midi will then be layd down as the audio was, but now you can pitch up or down the slices
Safe, going to try this as soon as I get home.
