So I like mashing up genres a bit, and I've always been a bit of a fan of trying to slowly edge across instead of just cutting, giving a nice smooth transition.
Dubstep and techy 4x4 (deep electro or techno) can do this very nicely, particularly when the dubstep has some nice techy momentum.
Breaks doesn't really do this because the emphasis on the snare, means your either EQing down so far you lose the crux of the tune, or you snare 3 beats in a row and sound a bit epileptic.
Lots of dubstep producers seem to have this in mind lately and bust out breakbeat, or at least techier 4x4 oriented outro sets out of the last drops...some examples;
Zombie Disco Squad - Eurovision (The Boog-a-Loo Crew Remix)

Barletta - Panther (ZEDS DEAD Remix)

Stanton Warriors - Precinct (AC Slater Remix)

Proxy - Dancing In The Dark (OlliE! & Bare Noize VIP)

La Roux - In For the Kill (Lets Get Ravey Remix)

Blah blah blah blah, whatever, you get the gist...shitloads of it...everywhere...lots of people doing it...standard thing to do these days.
Question is, why the FUCK can't I find any tunes that do it the other way round?? i want to mix both ways...I want 4x4 or breakbeat tunes with nice lengthy dubstep outros so I can beat match out, but there seems to be fuck all. Elite Force is chucking together quite a few tunes that would probably be suitable but he seems to be hoarding the fuck out of them till his album release.
This leaves stuff like this;
Koochie - Funkin Ass (Analogue Remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKByGcgI_ng
(theres actually quite a bit of these dubstep break type tunes around...some ac slater shiz, hijack etc, whatevs...anyway, its all short dubstep breakdown then straight back into it)
Where I have to use cdj mode to setup a nice tight loop, or make absolutely certain I cue at the exact right point with a tune that drops bang on the 64 then cut straight out.
Don't really like it...Has anybody got any sweet dubstep tunes that open with tech or broken beats?
If not, why the fuck not...somebody make some...
