Jesus...

It's all subjective anyway, I actually like Sub Island but I don't like a lot of his other tunes.

I do think he is slightly over rated, not to say hes no good but i think there are better producers and better tunes out there, for example the tune called Chicken Korma he did, then listen to Gizmo by Datsik... outclassed.

Yeah, he's overrated. Sub Island is cool though. But generally his stuff is pretty crap production-wise compared to a lot of others.

I disagree 100%.

The skream track is way better.

Also, Sub Island is one of the best dubstep tracks out there.

Edit: Just listened to Gizmo. Not really feeling it.

Sub Island is dope I reckon, different strokes for different folks.

I have seen this thread before and it probably wont be the last.. but what instantly springs to mind is a quote from the last thread:
DJ Heny.G wrote:This is the most stupid thread i have ever seen!

@ 1 point during late 02-early 03, the whole hatcha 10'' dubplate box was just pure early skream and benga tunes. These tracks back then was the most intresting tracks in the early days ov dubstep, im sure even @ that specific point, the scene wasnt officially even called dubstep.

As far as im concerend, skream & benga are just two names who wrote the instruction book for this scene. They are ONE of the main reasons why people are involved in this music aswell as Digital Mystiks,Leofah,Kode 9,Benny Ill & Horsepower,Lombardo,Mark One(Mrk1),Plastic Man(Plastician),Oris Jay/Darqwan,SLT MOB,Menta/Artwork,EL-B,Roxy,Ja Da Flex,Hatcha and a few other names to mention, i dont need to mention all names, ive earned my stripes for sure in this shit, i aint got fuck all 2 prove.

All im saying is, have some respect b4 you post bull threads on here coz it makes my blood boil!

About is skream a genius or overated???
Man is a pioneer in dis shit, and man was 15 when it all started.

It's called taste in music; I know people who dislike Skream; but like Benga and vice-versa. This is an example how tastes settle; no matter who brilliant the producer is.
It's the same with genres, films, fit birds, etc.

This. I was coming home from my girlfriends about an hour ago and just had playing Fick in my head while.

It's all about how his tracks just go about halfway through, specifically Fick, Oskliatah, and Make Me.

Chest Boxing is fucking relentless.

Fick, when I listen to it baked, it just feel like everything goes into mass panic on the heaviest drop, then the bass starts sketching in and out - it's mad.

I think it's because the production quality is good at both ends of, like an equalizer spectrum, that makes it so good.

the only shit tune i've ever heard of his, is his remix of professor greens 'upper clapton dance' apart from that as above. i don't know anyone else that has knocked out an apparent 1500 tunes.
