10pm - 12am GMT

Dubwise technoid riddims, mutant breakage, dark sci fi landscapes and scorched sonics from:

GUNJACK- Consume

NOIZ - Bankai Audio / Consume

STORMFIELD- Combat / Bankai Audio

bios:

GUNJACK

Veteran producer Brian Gibbs has been releasing techno since 2001 on countless labels including Audio Assault, Techno City, Submissioms, Black Code Experiments, and is also responsible for the infamous Jacked series 12"s. Successfully fusing the hard, militant end of techno with dubstep arrangements, he started the Consume label to release this wealth of mutant electronic music from likeminded artists like Noiz, Bracket, Broken Note, The Grey Man, Mark Broom and Stormfield.

http://soundcloud.com/gunjack

NOIZ

Easily one of the fiercest new producers to arrive in the past couple years, Serbia-based Noiz combines the precision rhythmic programming of drum'n'bass with old skool hardcore dancefloor militancy. Already having released on Excision's Rottun Records label and Bankai Audio, he's got more music on the way via Consume, Combat and the Yellow Machines label.

STORMFIELD

Combat boss will be dropping various forthcoming releases including Neil Landstrumm / Ebola, Scorn, Bracket, In Vitro Recs and a sneak preview of the next Point B album.

http://soundcloud.com/stormfield

Riddim'n'Bruise: a freestyle mashup of mutant dubstep, abstract electro, broken techno, weird electronics with an overall dark melancholic sci-fi vibe. Dropping tunes we like, exclusive guest mixes, previews of forthcoming releases and a load of important tunes from the past 20 years of electronic music, that shaped the Combat sound.

Can't wait to get the "Gravel Bed" original on vinyl. PLEASE tell me that Landstrumm stuff isn't coming out first.

"In the margins" by Scorn is out now on Record Label Records.

It kinda ties in with this..I saw the name Scorn there 8)

neil landstrumm

Starting his professional career in 1994 Neil has released music on several international electronic labels and also worked in the motion graphics field with MTV, Rockstar Games and The Magnificents. To date Landstrumm has released 5 Experimental Electronic albums, 1 Art-Rock-Blues-Beat album, several 12” singles and remixes on labels ranging from Peacefrog, Tresor, Sonic Groove Mosquito, to his own imprint, Scandinavia. Neil has collaborated with Cristian Vogel, Si Begg, Mike Fellows, Bill Youngman and Tobias Schmidt the best know of which is Sugar Experiment Station. Essentially a live artist, Neil has built his reputation on uncompromising live performances world wide with shows most recently at Unit–Tokyo, Rex-Paris, Tresor-Berlin, Electrowerkz and Corsica Studios-London.

This set is a mashup in the truest sense, a DJ set that brings in diverse influences that surround and shape his own sound: Clattering hardcore breaks, cold warehouse techno atmospheres, furious electro pulses and downright dirty stomach pumping bass blasts.

dead sound

Not much is known about this new producer from the north of England, but his techno-electro-acid-dubstep hybrids are awesome, and came highly recommended by the techno uberlord Surgeon. Check out his forthcoming releases via our kindred purveyors of tech-filth, Manchester's Data Trace label.

Monday 17th August...

More summer pressure thus monday, with Netherland-based elecronic heavyweights Funckarma, Tokyo's Matt B and Combat boss Stormfield.

Dubwise technoid riddims, mutant breakage, dark sci fi landscapes and scorched sonics from:

FUNCKARMA- N3MD / Dub NL / Creative Space

MATT B- Made in Glitch (Tokyo)

STORMFIELD- Combat / Bankai Audio

Monday 17th August
10pm - 12am UK time
www.subfm.com

bios:

funckarma
Formed of two Dutch brothers, Don and Roel Funcken. Both did studies in audio visual surroundings. Influences on their work are hiphop, jazz, reggae and dub music, soul music and definitely beats in all ways imaginable. Having released under numerous labels (Warp/Skam/dub/Merck) and alter egos (Legiac/Cane/Quench/Cenik/dif:use), they remixed Funkstörung and Speedy J and received great acclaim for their hiphop project with Shadow Huntaz.

http://www.last.fm/music/Funckarma?autostart=1

matt B

Italian born, Tokyo based and one half of the duo Bass Science (Bankai Audio), Matt B fuses dubstep, glitch hop, IDM and dub into a fresh new sound that is simultaneously super filthy and extremely clean. Profrssional sound designer by day, and soundsystem smasher by night, Matt's meld of serious low end, deep pocket rhythms, crunchy distortion, glitchy mouth percussion and dubwise textures has seen him tour the US alongside Richard Devine, and tear up various festivals in europe including Secret Garden and Glade Fest.

crooked one

Nothing much is known about this artist but their split 12" on Stark sound was an incredible, blistering workouts of dirty bass and scorched electronic fusion that called to mind early Vex'd, Youngsta and Tech Itch. We tracked them down for a guest mix... it's quite brutal :)

http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=31869

luke handsfree

DJ, label boss of Handsette Records and co-promoter of the Plex electro/techno/acid parties, the every busy Luke Handsfree has stepped up with a cross-genre mix of freestyle electro.

Monday 12th October

Tonight... Plex / Combat party preview!

Darkstep pressure, neo-jungle and electronic warfare from Scorn, Xammatu (Point B) and Stormfield.

XAMMATU (Point B)

STORMFIELD- Combat / Bankai Audio

and tracks fresh from the studios of Scorn and Elemental.

Monday 12th September
10pm - 12am UK time
http://www.subfm.com

bios:

xammatu

Xammatu is the jungle / drum'n'bass alias of maverick South London electronic artist Richard Bultitude, more widely known as Point B. The ever prolific producer has been building a stockpile of cheeky new material for some time now, and it gets it's first ever airing on this show. The feisty tracks are peppered with cheeky Point B-style edits, at times reminiscent of Ceephax Acid, other times Luke Vibert or early Squarepusher. We like :)

Richard plays in his Point B guise at the Plex 3rd Birthday this October 30th in Corsica Studios, headlining the Combat room alongside Scorn. Huge lineup on a decent soundsystem... gig info here: http://www.myspace.com/plexlondon

stormfield

Switching up the tempo for this show with a neo-junglist set, blending old Photek vibes with current productions. Also, fresh material will be dropped from the studios of Scorn & Elemental, who are also playing at the Plex 3rd B'day party. I might throw in some old skool acid for good measure :)

Point B

An exclusive live set from the man like Point B, freshly recorded straight off the Combat stage at the Plex party 30th October, where he rocked the room with bleepy, abstract yet insanely funky electronics. Championed by Rob Hall, his new album Suicide Beauty Spot can be purchased here:
http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/sc/se ... OMBAT024CD

"As dubstep comes of age, so the quality moves out of the realm of DiY bedroom productions and into that of the rich, layered compositions found in Suicide Beauty Spot. Geuinely exciting exploration of the sonic possibities opening out there" - DJ Mag"

"Like Burial with cleaner lines and less complicated emotions, the gorgeous nighttime city visions of this sleek, contemplative record are the perfect example of how dubstep has given 'home listening' electronica a sense of purpose again." - Joe Muggs, The Arts Desk

fresh Point B interview on Knowledge Magazine:
http://www.kmag.co.uk/editorial/features/616

somatic responses

"The brothers John and Paul Healy, collectively known throughout the world as Somatic Responses, are still native residents of a small industrial mining community snugly located in the southwest region of Wales. Somatic Responses are into complex dislocated & broken beats, distorted intelligent constructions, fascinating sonic structures, force and sweetness intertwined." - Last.Fm

Longtime fans of the Somatics since their insane releases on Hymen Records, we're lucky enough to feature a live recording of the duo on this show.

stormfield

More weird bass-heavy dancefloor electronics, giving a hint of the carnage to be unleashed at the Yardcore/Bass Infection sessions in Brno and Prague, Czech Republic, end of November... :)

Monday 7th December

Tonight... Binary Feedback / Subjex / Stormfield

Scorched electro, dirty, broken riddims and mutant 2-step

BINARY FEEDBACK (label showcase)

SUBJEX (Planet Mu / In Vitro / Bedroom Research - France)

STORMFIELD- Combat / Bankai Audio

Monday 7th Decemer
10pm - 12am UK time

bios:

binary feedback

A new label run by Combat ally and veteran London producer Richard H aka. Hue Jah Fink, this is the showcase for "a label for those that have a taste for the unexpected, that want to travel and cross borders, and that refuse to be blinkered." Hue Jah has worked exiensively in sound design, audio mastering and produced with various artists from Blackmas Plastics to Kirsty Hawkshaw (!). Expect a slew of sludgy, dirty yet precise bass science and deliberate yet fragemented rhythms.

subjex

This enigmatic French producer first came to our attention some years agi via a nondescript but excellent little 10" on Planet Mu. Since then he's had a string of quality electronic releases on various labels like Bedroom Research, Schematic Records and In Vitro. Another freestyle electronic genre-smasher like his colleague Monster X, Subjex has prepared a wicked new set of neo-classical compositions mixed with Aphex-style jungle just for tonight's show. Not to be missed!

stormfield

Fresh from smashing up Prague and Brno, going on a neo-junglist vibe for this one :)
