yeah seems like its pretty rare to see his name on a flyer

i've bought a lot of his tunes on wax but only ever heard 1 set before, the 'N16 Mix' from a few years back

sunday night at bestival was just too good, i can't get enough of the techno crossover stuff right now

i was pretty much floored when i saw him dj. obviously i didn't think he was gunna be shit but i did think he was mainly a producer, not a dj, probably because i hadn't seen him on many bills or heard much talk about his sets.

anyway he came with a top drawer selection of techno/garage/dubstep mixed bloody well, and not just technically speaking but the overall energy and vibe of the set was top notch. not seen a set as good as that for a long time or since.

that hotflush podcast03 is the to check out. just wish there was a tracklist for it.

Back in the dayz we used to sit cross legged in a circle at DMZ and signal the DJ with joss sticks.

might as well ask for a tune id while i'm here...

he played an old garage track with the vocal "come down operator with the 99 remix" (or words to that effect), then sounds like a remix of an old jungle tune i've forgotten the name of.... anyone help?

It's the way, not sure on who did the garage version, maybe Scuba himself?

He is on this forum, search for 'Paulie'

His bestival set blew me away, it was so sick.

I remember a mix form purple city into something 4/4 that was maybe the best mix of all time.

Thanks guys, although tbh the Bestival set was pretty hard work - miles away at the back/corner of the stage, couldn't really hear how it sounded out the front and the monitor was distorting like hell.

Scuba playing the bells was a definite highlight for me, really fun set although I did initially expect him to go really deep as this mix is one of my favourite of the past year:

http://www.xlr8r.com/podcast/2008/11/dubstep-2008-scuba

01 Shackleton "The Rope Tightens (Badawi Remix)"
02 Scuba "From Within (Marcel Dettmann Remix)"
03 Mount Kimbie "Maybes"
04 Scuba "Bleach"
05 Sigha "Expressions"
06 Pangaea "Bear Witness"
07 STP "The Fall (T++ remix)"
08 Untold "Sweat"
09 Scuba "Tense"
10 Scuba "Ruptured (Surgeon Remix)"
11 Sigha "Bruised"
12 Baby Ford + Eon "Dead Eye"
13 F "The Untitled Dub"
14 Scuba "The Upside (Martyn's Down Mix)"
15 Toasty "The Knowledge (Untold Remix)"
16 Mount Kimbie "William"

Hope to see more scuba soon

Props to Appleblim for the well planned deep journey he took us on in Bollywood

That was because there was a huge drama over Pole's setup - the stage manager hadn't been given anyone's technical requirements and he needed a 16 channel mixing desk and a bunch of other stuff. Hence the position of the decks and all the other messing around on stage.
