Full House Productions and Subdivision are proud to team up and bring one of the most exciting and refreshing bookings our city has seen in years.
We invite each of you to join us for the very first Pittsburgh performance of legendary DJ Mary Anne Hobbs.

“The undisputed First Lady of Bass... and one of its most influential selectors.”
- XLR8R -
“Mary Anne Hobbs probes the more arcane corners of new electronic music...to suit every beat explorer.”
- Time Out London -
Mary Ann Hobbs first made a name for herself when she fronted the Radio 1 Rock Show and the experimental / electronic Breezeblock on BBC Radio 1 for a number of years.
Most recently, Hobbs has been a notable champion of the dubstep and grime genres. Her 2 hour special 'Dubstep Warz' on BBC Radio 1 in January 2006 is widely regarded as the show that broke the dubstep sound globally and consequently she has become viewed by many on the Dubstep scene as an almost maternal figure.
Next, she released a groundbreaking dark electronic compilation album on Planet Mu records entitled Warrior Dubz in October 2006, drawing the sonic parallels between dubstep, grime, dark dancefloor, techno, d&b and hip hop.
Not content being the first DJ to play dubstep on air, in June 2007, Hobbs curated the UK Dubstep showcase at the Sónar festival with Skream, Oris Jay and Kode 9, taking the sound out of club environments and onto an international festival stage in front of 8,500 people for the very first time.
On February 7th 2008, the "Dubstep Souljahs" documentary she made for BBC Radio 1 aired inside Pete Tong's In New Music We Trust show. Her second compilation album, Evangeline, was released on June 16th 2008 on Planet Mu records.
The release of her second compilation album coincided with her second Sonar Festival Stage featuring artists Shackleton, Flying Lotus and Mala from Digital Mystikz. In 2009 she returned to the festival with Joker, Gaslamp Killer and Martyn.
She is set to release a third compilation album 'Wild Angels' in September 2009 on the Planet Mu label (you can catch a video from 'Wild Angels' (courtesy of Lucky Me) here: http://vimeo.com/5846276), following 'Evangeline' in June 2008 and her notorious debut for the label 'Warrior Dubz' in October 2006.
Now, on September 19th 2009, she will be making her first ever appearence here in Pittsburgh. Whether you are a fan of breakbeats, drum and bass, dubstep...or for that matter ANY kind of electronic music, don't miss what is sure to be an epic performance from a dubstep legend.
