GREMLINZ ALBUM LAUNCH

Ballers Social

TERROR DANJAH (Planet Mu)
GREENA (Night Slugs / ApplePips)
JONGERRE(Baddermanz)

October 22nd
10pm - 2am
Sub Club
£7 / £5 before midnight

Ballers Social are proud to present Grime overlord Terror Danjah, Garage newcomer Greena and local bad boy Jongerre on October 22nd.

Terror Danjah is a grime super-producer based in London. His debut instrumental album 'Gremlinz' is one of the most forward thinking club records you are ever likely to hear; containing everything from Afro-botic tribalism, abstract melodies, raw rythmic percussion and a super high production value throughout! It also features the LuckyMe favourite 'Zumpi Hunter', which swerves between micro-edited synth funk of Joker and muscle-twitching rhythm chops of Timbaland flawlessly.

He was also one of the original N.A.S.T.Y Crew members alongside Wiley!

Greena is an upcoming producer based in South London. He has records forthcoming on Appleblim's 'ApplePips' label and Bok Bok's 'Night Slugs' label. He has DJed at Londons infamous FWD>> club night, and recorded mixes for FACT Magazine, Mary Anne Hobbs and XLR8R.

Greena's music moulds Drexciyan techno's submerged bass with U.K Funky's freshest drum breaks. A feverish take on dance music, its a combination of classic piano stabs, swinging garage beats and uplifting strings.

Receiving praise and support from Mary Anne Hobbs, Ikonika, Shortstuff and Ben UFO, he is one to watch for 2010!

Holding down the backline is Glasgow legend Jongerre. Boasting a huge vinyl collection of all things Grime, Garage, Funky and Dubstep, he will provide the perfect support!

This Lucky Electronic music Party is held in the world famous Sub Club on Jamaica St.

Door tax is £7 and £5 before midnight.

I dunno, you wait years for a Terror Danjah gig then two come along at once

I wouldn't call gremlins his debut album Joe, there's been a few out already and this is a compilation of tracks from these.

Pedant alert over!

Nice work on the cover.

I'm interested to know, what's you rationale behind that opinion? Because it was self released?

the format, design, the way the tracks sit with each other and the marketing all says mixtape to me.

So the way a product is packaged and sold ultimately affects what sort of product it is in the first place? Interesting -q-

terror has been involved in grime in years..i reckon the digi - mixtape format is a safe bet due to the amount of such releases in that genre.

I get confused when people say mixtape these days. When did it stop meaning mixtape in the old sense and start meaning a self released collection of artist's tracks that used to be called an album? Help me out here joe?

When people figured out they can take more money out your pockets by peddling you horseshit. The one thing i think we'll all agree on is that Terror Danjah is the shit and somebody shoulda got him up here moons ago.

Square off is oooooooooooooon.

Yeah. That Planet Mu release has been a long time coming. The amount of face-melting Terror Danjah tracks that haven't been released on a solid format is fucking tragic. He's hands down one of the illest. You can bang on about alot of grime producers, (some good, some bad) but i reckon he's peerless.

Apart from that Sophie Ellis Bexter "Murder On The Dancefloor" edit. I think we could safely sweep that under the rug.
