Very occasionally.
I've more or less stopped buying them but whenever a really big tune comes out, such as a DMZ release, it's a straight cop.

shipping rates and conversions rock! what are you talkin about? $10 for a single release and $18ish for a double pack is hella cheap. those are the prices i pay from chemical and redeye.hubsmoke wrote:i use serato, but i buy records every so often, instead of just a couple i've been buying like 15 at a time and that's been keeping me occupied i guess.
i wish i had a local record shop that stocked more than one burial and one skream record. shipping costs/conversion rates suck :'(
They're alright if you're importing more than 1 thing. You gotta be clever when you buy bulk.Spire wrote:shipping rates and conversions rock! what are you talkin about? $10 for a single release and $18ish for a double pack is hella cheap. those are the prices i pay from chemical and redeye.hubsmoke wrote:i use serato, but i buy records every so often, instead of just a couple i've been buying like 15 at a time and that's been keeping me occupied i guess.

Good chaps!
Just set up a label dealing in vinyl. Sometimes i feel a bit nuts for doing so, but troopers like yourselves will (hopefully) allow it to flourish!
So, thanks!

Re: do people with serato still buy records
I've actually started buying more since i went to serato from CDs - i'm already taking two vinyl - might as well take a few more right? plus i've got that "feel" back which i lost with CDJ's making any vinyl mix a trainwreck after using cdjs for an extended period of time.
so biggup serato - made me buy more vinyl than i have in a few years!!

Yes, I simply am exponentially more discerning of which records I buy.
I still buy dubstep on vinyl here and there, but most of what I collect on wax is either Soul/Funk or Reggae/Roots.

QFT, I buy about fifteen 12"s every two weeks or so. Shipping is usually only $10-15, I don't think that's so terrible..ianfm wrote:They're alright if you're importing more than 1 thing. Re: do people with serato still buy records
i still buy stuff on vinyl but its predominantly old stuff - old grime and uk garage stuff.
i get pretty much everything sent to me in wav or 320 from everyone whose music i'd go out and buy on vinyl.
i always buy albums on cd too. i like the artwork and sleeves

Re: do people with serato still buy records
I buy my weekly dose of vinyl and rip everything to wav so I don't have to drag a recordbox with me when playing out.
Don't ask me why but I prefer playing ripped wav files to wav files I bought from Beatport etc., maybe because it got those pops and cracks in it.
Love my SL3
