Mac VS PC

Post by swomp » Wed Sep 23, 2009 5:02 pm

I had a half hearted look for another thread on this but couldn't find one.

So what do you think?

I'm a PC all the way. Macs just look pretty.

Got both. Actually prefer PC. I was all about my Mac when I first got it but the novelty soon wore off.

I have a PC and a mac, so I can give a pretty fair answer, I use them both for the same things, it's just easier to have one of each, and I've never had as many problems with a mac that I have with a PC in the past year in my life. It's Windows, absolute piece of shite software. I was originally a mac user, and i'll stay that way, never had a virus, never had any problems apart from the occasional "this application has unexpectedly quit" and the "please restart your computer now" screen. With the PC I've had to reinstall the OS numerous amounts of times and ring up the company I bought it from numerous amounts of times just because with Windows, shit happens, all the time.

exact same here. I find it MUCH easier to organize my files with windows. there are simply many fewer sort options on macs, which is a big issue for me.

I have to say though, I do enjoy not having to worry so much about getting a virus browsing the internet with my mac. I've never really had any similar problems to defekt's, although it seems more likely it could happen on windows..

mac laptop for serato, desktop PC for gaming and overall performance

It's not the tools, it's what you do with them.
That being said, I use a mac.

Same here. Always used PCs until mine broke and I started using my wife's Mac. Now thinking about buying a Macbook Pro. I'm a PC who loves Logic.

I have grown up using Macs, when I was a kid I used to go an hunt for games that were mac compatible etc.
I love my mac, it does everything I need it for. I don't play games anymore so I don't see how PCs are any better for what I want out of a computer.

depends what you want a computer for.

if your more on the creative side of things, mac. because thats what its designed for.
programming/gaming all that malarchy then go for PC.

my switch to mac completely converted me though, so much smoother and clean.
the problem with this war is when kids go for mac for the sake of having a mac. OMG PHOTO BOOTH!!! I CAN TAKE PICTURES OF MYSELF!!!!

PC...

if it aint broke, why fix it.

Although I read that they soon selling Macs for $100-300, if that happens, I'll buy one for convenience sake. So I can carry it around and hijack people's wireless connection.

But I never have viruses, probably because I don't run internet on my home PC. And plus...that can be solved with this thing they have, some shit called Viruscan.
