monitor HELP

Post by dem ones » Sat Sep 26, 2009 12:05 am

i know everyone is always asking about monitors but i still need to ask lol

I need some new ones and wanted some peeps opinions here are my options

For around £700 i could get some genelec 8030a which are 80w each and are supposed to sound sick,
for around £900 i could get some krk vxt8,s which are real powerfull and sound good,

problem with these options is obviosly the price, there not out of reach but i would have to save for a little while,
my other option is to look around the £400 mark,
krk rp8's were my top choice,

what should i do cos the monitors i have now are letting me down i think,

i can't give you much advise on the genelec's or the higher spec krk's

although i do own a pair of the RP8's and very happy with them...

my advise would be (you probably already know this, just incase you don't...) go to a store and take a listen, the shop will get the speakers in for you if they don't have them in stock. then you can listen to them side by side, take a cd with your favorite tracks...you will know which ones are right for you that way, its pretty much the only way to be sure.....
