Krunchy - Urban Resistance // Konkrete Jungle - NY
==============================
Krunchy is a darkside drum and bass marksman. The definitive sound that is Krunchy combines rugged bass and whiplash breaks without succumbing to the generic sound of dancefloor darkness. Rinsing the freshest plates and giving maximum respect to the classic and U.S. darkside sound, DJ Krunchy insures a crowds ass-a-shakin`, heads-a-noddin`, breakdancing injuries and ultimately lighters raised in true jungle-raver fashion.
DJ Krunchy began the journey into the world of electronic music in the early 90`s. Already an avid music fan with a taste for the hard and strange, Krunchy was at first drawn to the machine like abstraction of electro and the industrial/ hardcore punk influenced sound of gabber techno. Two events would change all of that. The release of a cd called "Jungle Warfare", and hearing a dj named Soulslinger at an Autechre show. Soulslinger`s set , a mix of ragga, fast hardcore breaks and early tech-step, inspired the switch into the jungle sound. After experimenting with many styles within the genre Krunchy found a home in the dark, hard, glitchy sound of tech-step drum and bass.
Playing at parties across the US and Germany, Krunchy developed razor sharp skills and a reputation for style and control on the decks. Showcasing these skills along side such DnB luminaries as Dara, Dom and Roland, Bad Company , Dieselboy , and many others, Krunchy has proven she can hold it down with the best. Also a respected NYC promoter and budding producer , Krunchy is a force and definitely one to watch.

===================
After years of playing different instruments that limited his musical ideas,Ernesto Pantin aka Pharaoh started producing and DJing at the age of 17 in his home country of Venezuela. He found his true medium in the mixer and jumped on the express highway of Electronic Dance Music. Pharaoh has produced andDJed for many Hip Hop acts, such as 3 Dueños, Dj Trece, Budu, and many others. His career also took him to be part of the Venezuelan Band Todosantos (Flamin Hotz Records), which later gave him the opportunity to tour North andSouth America after relocating to Brooklyn. Pharaoh has collaborated with such artists as Cardeopusher, Krames, Ninja Sonik, and Dev79 whileaccomplishing all this before the age of 21. Once in New York, Pharaoh's musical persona took definite shape in Dubstep and Bassline House. His Salvation Army parties gave way to guests like Kid Kameleon and Dj Ripley, Dj C, Mathhead, and many others.
Born, Federico Rojas Lavado, Ferola was ripped from his homeland in Venezuelaand brought to New York City at the age 3. Being influenced by the early days ofStretch Armstrong & Bobbito on 89 Tech 9 on Columbia College Radio, Ferola picked up the tables in 1999. That year, Ferola joined his college radio station in Poughkeepsie to play Hip Hop. While listening to DJs before and after his show, he was greatly influenced by new sounds such as Jungle & Techno. After attending his first rave and being captivated by the energy of the scene, he realized the similarities of Hip Hop and Electronic Music. In 2005, Ferola collaborated with Earth Control, a collective which consisted of DJs Will Divide & Diamond Vinyl aka Nicole of NINA SKY. Earth Control has played various venues around the city and the tri state area. Through the years, artists such as,Charles Feelgood, Ralphie C, Richie Hawtin, Paul Johnson, DLG, and Carl Cox have all inspired Ferola in his music career.
After meeting in the winter of 2007, Pharaoh and Ferola decided to follow the way of the groove to form Sex & Fury. The goal was to bring the rhythm back to the dance floors. Their sound consists of funky blends of Disco, House andTechno with extreme musical roots in Latin rhythmic music.
In early 2009, they teamed up with Unit.One to form a party called Broken Teeth. As resident Djs, Sex & Fury have played with artist such as Dj Morsy, Stareyes, Cobra Krames, Mathhead, Jubilee and performed at venues like Websterhall, Happy Endings, and Market Hotel. Together they produce a weekly mix show podcast integrating guest DJs of all genres called Broken Teeth. Sex & Fury will embark on their southern tour the last week of August and start their new Bi-Monthly in September of 2009.
