yes this happens to me like every day. and usually after a day of smoking all day long and then having no weed the next. however, if u try quitting for 2+ months you will see that its a completely different mindstate , and this uninspired feeling is no where near as strong. i envy the people who can smoke weed and not get into this kind of pattern. it is a drug, some can handle it some cant. i cant but i smoke it anyway

OT Kind of: Anyone else in the South West UK finding it hard getting any decent weed over the last couple of weeks?

Even 'the big boys' are smoking shit right now :(

..And now the sprayed weed has almost subcided what the fuck is all this 'English' weed thats croped up? More rubbish...

And..(furthermore) ...whats with all the wet weed business? No-one buys wet weed...for fuck sake wait another 3 or so days for it to dry before you try and punt it.

(been smokin' pollen press last 3 weeks, gettin' right on me chest it is....)

Rant over,.... cue replies from the rest of the world about how much chronic they have...

I don't smoke anymore, but the only time I tried to produce on acid, I ended up flipping the keyboard upside down and going outside. :o

Happened to me all the time and I thought nothing of it.

Spark up, hit the studio. But, I recently quit smoking because it was just flat getting in the way of me accomplishing other things.

Now I am having a hard time with working on music as it is so integrated into "the habit."

I am hoping I can smooth this out a bit before the winter sets in as I tend to do a lot more music when the weather sucks.

So I guess I would caution against creating/relying on a co-dependant connection between drugs and art 'cuz it kinda sux right now staring at my gear and only being inspired to toke up. :(

ah yes, don't we all do this? as i'm getting older, though, i make sure to take breaks, i have to force myself sometimes to be sober and create otherwise, i've noticed i run the danger of ONLY being creative while high(and that includes my sense of humor). just like anything, you need to practice(both while high and while not). The thing about weed is that it helps you put aside everything else that you don't want to care about in the present moment allowing you to focus on just the one thing you do, but there are other ways to achieve this state-of-mind(but not all of us want to become a Zen monk right away... i personally try to mix it up... high sometimes... just meditate others...)

I also do some programming in C while high. My attention for math seems better then(go figure). They say music is math. Well, there ya go...

Not good for teeth weed either...all that junk food at bedtime, remember to clean your molars

The thing I cant write on is alcohol, totally stunts any creativity.

Any other drugs good for writing? I gave up the chems a few years ago, BS (Before studio) and often wonder how I'd write on MDMA, K, 2cb's, acid etc...

(maybe not acid)

?
I can see the whole idea of trying to produce music while tripping balls as being like totally foreign and impossible... shit sometimes i have trouble getting things in and out of my pockets when im trippin... "who the fuck made these pants?!?!! why are they better than meeeeee?!?!" anyway though, back to the OP, this always happens to me. problem is smoking weed makes me suuuuuper lazy, so when i have writers block and i go get lit i get all these brilliant ideas about what i should do with my next track and i start beatboxing and writing the whole thing out in my head... but when I actually get back to my DAW ive usually forgotten half of what I drew up in my head, my synths are always harder to configure for some reason... that never sounds exactly the way i want it to... and i never end up having the patience because im just too stoned...

nice post though +10
