dubstep and bellydancing
dubstep and bellydancing
So my friend's girlfriend is, among other things, a yoga instructor and professional bellydancer. Now 90% of the time I spin drum and bass as I have been for years, but a few months ago at a party I dropped some digital mystikz tracks and she was rocking her hips and doing that hands up shoulder slow pop thing that bellydancers do. Now my friend tells me one time he put in a dubstep allstars cd around the house (my friend, this girl, and the girl's boyfriend all share a house) and she was way into it and doing the same thing.
has anyone else encountered really unique/interesting dancing styles coming out of playing dubstep???

no lol. tribal bellydancing, as opposed to cabaret, is known for many of its abstract beats. my girlfriend's instructor did a whole show to amon tobin's permutations, so i wouldnt underestimate the appeal of dubstep in some bellydancing circles.KION wrote:lol?djSIK wrote: i wouldn't be surprised to see more dubstep at bellydancing performances in the near future.
