I already have the damn mpk though! It BIG and HEAVY.

Damn right thats what I thought when I seen the videos. I bet the guy in the video was practising his ass off for weeks to crack that one. They don't look too easy to use but i suppose pratice makes perfect. There pretty cheap aswell

One of these and my bitstream, 32 (x2) Knobs, 64 buttons, and an mpd24 for good measure.
All with max for live, ableton is running shit, so much better than the apc40 lol. Just made the monome pointlessly expensive.

I tell you what if the thing is under 200 bucks you got to say thats pretty good value ...
My mate at work has tried it out and says its really very intuitive and responsive ....
I do wonder when you watch a video like that tho - I mean how much work did it take to get the samples etc in the machine in such a way that you can do that quick fire chopping and changing
Next years birthday - its mine!

but one is good for me
ooo follow actions follow actions...

apc40 and a couple of these would be more than enough, but forget how many you can have in tandem since been a few days since i watched demo video, remember it being over 600 buttons or [ara,s to control though

yea i think its 6
but who knows
you could see the whole session view (if they let you have more than one controlling session view...that would be pointless otherwise)
so it wouldn't be about having more control persay, just being able to see what the fuck you are doing without scrolling
or of course massive amounts of follow actions!!
the thing that got me though was the zoomed out mode where you can jump by 64's or whatever....amazing...thats one of the biggest complaints on the apc40 that the scrolling sucks

i think ableton is one of the few developers making custom versions or being supportive of custom controllers anyways. this unit minus a couple features puts new cdj 2000 to shame at bout half the cost including laptop.
