I didn't. I just said it's in that pile of stuff that never took off that was good, like minidiscs etc.

Yup I use them quite a bit, still have a minidisc player I love, an older recorder/player as well that was one of the first portable ones, and a friend of mine has an old school recorder, the ones that looked like DVD players. The "newer" ones could use mp3 so they are still handy. I still use ZIP as well with some of my hardware samplers, and still play Dreamcast too haha. Dreamcast was way ahead of the times, got it loaded up with linux and tons of roms.

Sometimes people freak out when they see me with minidiscs and assume it's some new technology, my cousin was going on about how it was like the discs in the Matrix and it's the future lol. The technology failed unfortunately and completely passed some people by so they have no idea.

I'm sure you can get brand new NetMD/Walkman players, they were still being made not too long ago, dunno about now... these:

Yeah unbelievably they're still kicking around.
Handy when they came out, i still have a few players kicking around.
The sound quality isn't great 132kpbs or less I think... your better off with a pure digital device...
Though if your still interested you can get Hi-MD now which lets record 45 hours of music to one disk

Bring back minidiscs. I've still got a player and a few discs. I remember they did try putting actual releases on them at one point but it seemed a pretty stupid idea

I still have my Net MD, cost me about £250 6 years ago and if you put a good mic on it you can do some amazing quality bootlegs. I only really stopped using it in the last year or two and at the moment don't have a portable music player :(

Loved my old MD player. Had one of those Sony ones that everyone had. They were indestructable! I dropped mine into a river. Worked fine after. Dropped it millions of times, always worked afterwards. Still works now, about 7 years later!

Lost all my MD's though :(

Yeah the sold them in stores with CD's! I still have a couple somewhere, a friend of mine has Korn's self titled on minidisc.. still listen to it sometimes. They were still mass producing them at least 4/5 years ago because i've seen some pretty modern music on minidisc.

what model did you have? i had two models within the span of maybe 3 years and they both broke, both were sony. also had a sony discman (2001?) which broke, and my moms sony tv broke after about 15 months. kinda lost faith in sony. nice products, just never seem to last.
