WTF who keeps saying Dubstep is dead??

Post by slush » Fri Oct 09, 2009 10:08 pm

So I'm pretty sure I'm not the first one to talk about this, nor will I be the last but how many of you have come across article and posts on the internet saying that dubstep is dead? The wobble is dead, the sound is dead? I don't know about you, but I sure as hell know that producers keep putting out new tunes that I think are off the chain and get me pumped up just as the tunes that came out last year, or the year before, or the one before that did. It's not just the musical elements that make dubstep what it is, but rather the feeling that dubstep gives the listener, at least for me it is. Coming up with interesting sounds, patterns, and mixes is why I can't understand how dubstep is dead. The only way it's gonna ever be dead is when our producers are dead and our DJs stop mixing tracks and people stop going to shows.

Sorry for this ramble but it's just been annoying me for a while now and I just felt the need to express myself (just like dubstep). I feel better now thanks for listening.

ps. if you think dubstep is dead why are you here?

Shit some said it would never even get off the ground / make it's way out of London. I honestly don't think any music "dies" anymore in these days of the internet. Someone somewhere will perpetuate the sound long after it is past it's prime / lost it's relevance. I don't know if I agree that it is just getting started but it is still going strong that is for sure. I am still waiting for the first jumping off the bandwagon bandwagon tbh, should be too far off now.
