@ pesky good stuff, im on laptop speakers tho so I dont know how your loew end is....sorry.

sorry skipped your intro thought it was boring, but ive had 4 hours sleep and feeling impatient , hey im being honest its what you need...like the sample but think you should use it at least one more time in the tune...

and everyone I strongly advise getting a souncloud account, its free and easy/ quick to use..... and maybe more importantly leave feedback for others!!!

you cant expect others to leave you feedback if you dont yourself!!!

prob the best bit of feedback you can read I think....

@ youthfull implants,

good work man, takes a while to get going, but when it does it sounds great, sounds bit like a breaks tune but its not a bad thing....theres some great bits in the tune that should prob run bit longer 2.....maybe the overall tune should run bit longer?

@ DNT KNW

almost didnt listen mate, dont think many people will, if they have to dl a tune, get a soundcloud = more plays

the tune is pretty good, deep feel, nice beats, is there a bassline? ( shit laptop speakers sorry)

add a few things, (bass, fx, find a sample, or whatever you think fits) and I think youve got a good tune...

keep going man...

thanks for listening man, yeah I think you're right - some sections need to be longer and maybe the intro a bit shorter.

cheers!

Thanks, yeah there is a bassline but I tried to keep it low so it didnt drown out some of the more intricate percussive bits. I've got a myspace but assumed that would sound shit haha (hence the download link) Will get on the soundcloud thing.

This is my second attempt at production so glad to hear im on the right track!

rsb808 wrote:2nd song i made....lookin for some feedback. if you leave some for me i'll return the favor.

i feel like there's a few problems with this one....but it's hard to tell from listening to it so many times, plus all i got to monitor on is some shitty cd headphones. i think the sub might not be in tune, and im pretty sure the 808 kick isn't in tune. the problem im having is i cut the kick and snare out of loop that had some other melody sound over it and you can sorta hear it...tried eqing it out but didnt have much success, and i can't find any other kick that fits :| . i think it sounds alright otherwise but its hard getting perspective on yr own stuff sometimes

Soundcloud
In general:
Sounds: Good sound design, I like the little "ah" sound in the beginning. Drums sound good, the hihats have a Southern Hip-Hop feel. The sound at 1:51 is really cool, I like that. In all honesty, I couldn't hear the bass on my monitors at work so I can't give much feedback. If that's the style you are looking for (bass to be felt not heard) then you may be good, however if you want folks NOT in a club to hear it, you may consider layering another bass sound on top of it (same pattern) that has more content in the 100hz+ frequency range (even if it's super subtle).

Re: 808 & Sub being in-tune: Not sure what DAW you use, but use a frequency analyzer to determine what not the 808 is and tune to the root of the key you are playing in. As for the Sub - most of mine follow the bassline, I double the bassline w/ a Sub or have it play a simplified version of the main melody.

What comes after where you end it? Heavy bass? Change up on the synth swells?

Sounds like you are off to a good start. I say finish this bad boy up and continue to bust out more tunes!
