I remember seeing this on YouTube last year I think, it's a fine piece of software - you think we could have our fave vocal track, the vocal is something that we always wanted to use, could we pretty much edit everything out and leave the vocal part?? That would be mental, kinda like my dream piece of software if so.

Curious what you think the disadvantages would be.

I will try you the disadv !

If this thing hits big and it goes mega all out, you will never know the original artist to the composition Why... because you can copy change a few notes around.. and talking business wise am sure the prs would not be too happen in finding out who the original composition was made my and will cause people

Moral problem too..
How can you take someone else work change a few bits and bobs and claim it to be theres and then sell it! If you think this don't happen think again!! it has already happened (some big artist aswell )

i for one would not like if something took my song and made a name or money out of it!
its just wrong!

complaining about more tools that never existed before is like complaining you have a new job and don't no what to do with all this extra cash

sure you'll make some poor decisions on spending it, maybe get some hookers, some drugs...
but overall its just good to have that money.

/barely mediocre metaphor.

Sorry mate but those are terrible arguments. With regards to the first one who cares where the sample came from so long as it sounds good. And with regards to the second one, the entire dance music scene built up from sampling, at least if you mangle the sample in melodyne its more creative than just jacking a straight sample.

There are no disadvantages to this software what so ever as far as I'm concerned, my only concern is how good the quality will be and how well it will work.

Fair play to your honest opinion, first one, you would really not care what so ever who would have made original composition to a track lets just say that just gone mainstream, lots of publicist on the song, money being made ect ect...? You would not care what so ever?

second one, yes i argree with you it is, even the hip hop scene is theres no doubt about it! but to what extend lets take timberland for example a well known producer, but as many people now known all most all this hits where sample from quite old songs and these are not 3/4 sec sample am on about its the whole thing! now many many people hate him for this, 100% its no doubt about it what ever you say there are people out there.. calling him a thief, fake ect ect. However on the other hand there people say who gives a shit...! is the music good yes.. then why do you care ?

It just depends on the extend of it!

whining about new tools ftl. grow a pair and use new tools to write some crazy, whacked-out shit. The inability to see beyond this being used for T-Pain-like vocal correction is extremely, extremely weak.

record a guitar chord. re-pitch. load it into ableton and use unlooped regions or follow actions to change the pitch (and change the RATE OF CHANGE of the pitch). bounce. etc.

If this software takes a few people to the darker side to totally rip off others then shame on them but unfortunately that's life.

MP3's also have a disadvantage.... it allows someone to easily distribute others music to millions of people on the Internet without their permission in minutes because you're not having to upload 12 wave files that are roughly 500mb+, and even though it's a pain in the arse for those artists the MP3 is/was a massive milestone for portable music formats and the pros out weigh the cons by far.
