Just read this on getdarker:
"With the release of Emalkay's "When I Look At You" on the 12th October, rumours we're doing the rounds on Twitter, that he had been working on a Vip, and he was going to play it for the first time every, at Fabric on 15th.....but Emalkay didnt stick to his word and the first every play was on this massive two hour GetDarkerTV set."
Fail.

Re: People that can't spell
i see as a good thing being proud of your education, but in time i saw a spectacular decrease in the number of the people who share my opinion, to the point where it feels almost lonely.
was good to be respected for being able to spell properly because many people made efforts to get that respect themselves
but most importantly, it's about getting THE MESSAGE through correctly. as long as that happens, i don't bother using capitals for instance

Re: People that can't spell
Almost everyone with some higher education gets gets to play the spelling-N.azi at some point in their life, however briefly. Content is much more important, education can never make up for innate stupidity and there are highly intelligent and capable people who can't spell, you can teach them, but an idiot who can spell is still an idiot.

'who' and 'that' are interchangeable as the relative pronoun in this instance, actually.metalboxproducts wrote:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHApk- wrote:People who can't spell

You two are merely expressing your personal preference, not grammatical fact.

Re: People that can't spell
A confession: I sometimes have to look up internet shorthand terms like "afaik" because I forget what they stand for. Yep, abbreviations take me longer to read than actual words do.
I'd never seen the internet or used a mobile phone until I was twenty so I've never got out of the habit of writing everything long hand. I understand why people like to write short text messages but if you've got a full size keyboard there's no excuse. Does it really take that much extra time to use capitals and punctuation marks? I don't get it.
I fought in two world wars for your right to speak English, you illiterate thugs. Your mothers should be ashamed of you.

Re: People that can't spell
for the most part i agree, some abbreviations just don't seem necessary, but some are pretty useful for getting a point across on the internet: tbh, lol etc (case in point there actually - why is etc any more valid an abbreviation just because it's got some history behind it?). i've certainly had to look up a few of the more abstract ones. noone even knew what smh meant when von started saying it on here but it's somehow become part of the ninja dictionaryuncle bill wrote:A confession: I sometimes have to look up internet shorthand terms like "afaik" because I forget what they stand for.
