$200 ynth for only $15 bucks?!

Post by b_lee » Tue Oct 20, 2009 2:34 pm

http://www.audiomidi.com/Ultra-Analog-VA-1-BR-No-B rainer-Deal-P12692.aspx

Seriously, these guys are crazy! They're selling AAS Ultra Analog at a whopping 92% discount. Needless to say, I picked it up yesterday and honestly I'm quite blown away by it. Although the GUI looks like shit (the color scheme is tacky and you're gonna need a magnifying glass to navigate your way around it), there are a TON of features crammed into a small space and the sound is wonderful, IMHO.
I haven't yet tried dailing in anything in the Dubstep vain, though I know it's definitely capable of some deep non-wobble subs, interesting sound effects and dub-worthy lead sounds.

As an FYI for those that don't know:

This synth is a STEAL for $15. It's the same synth (like the SAME) as Ableton's Analog which is incredibly powerful.

I use this synth for making Reeses, for Subs, and oddball sounds. I find it really intuitive to program.

I always forget to watch out for those no-brainer deals!

Don't think I'll snatch that for now, though...

Dude! That PSP deal. Got read of the bootleg version of nitro and bought that with the quickness. Will have to look into this synth.

aren't you an ableton user though? why would you buy this synth if you can use analog?

or are you saying you use analog for "Reeses, for Subs, and oddball sounds" and are referring generally to how good either synth is, although they are pretty much the same.

I use Ableton's Analog which is the same synth, was just commenting that if I DIDN'T have Ableton Analog, I would find this to be a good deal.

The second sentence was just commenting on how I use Analog for my own productions = reese, subs, etc b/c I find it fast to get sounds I like.

i read on other forums that this version is different (has more features) than the one included in the ableton live suite. i may have misread tho. i don't know if i will get this (even though i just spent more updating my rapidshare account...) because i don't like the gui. meh i'll probably grab it anyway. but only because it's cheap.

Anyone know how much postage is to the UK? I'm sure you can get electronic download but i like my boxes, and it's not letting me calculate postage.

Sick Cat managed to pick up a £500 mixer for about £100, nothing the matter with it, I sometimes simply think people don't appreciate the value of stuff when they're rich. I have heard of working iMacs taken to the skip when a new model comes out :o
