serato vs finalscratch vs...?

Has anyone got any advice on which of these to go for? i've been limping along for too long now with product called djdecks (http://www.djdecks.be).

Its a great program and has some good features (obviously including vinyl control) and is cheap as... but when it goes wrong it goes wrong big time and the only escape is rewiring the decks back directly.

So its time to bite the bullet and spend some cash - but which one? or any alternatives?

heard a lot of positives about serato compared to final scratch. Personally I'd go with Serato.

torq works just like serato but you can sync it up with ableton and reason and stuff and its cheaper

i use traktor when im playing out these days (all the vinyl is currently invested in DnB...) and i dont know how final scratch is, but i've heard great things about both of em. I think the dopeness of native-instruments, combined with the 'assness' of stanton would still make a decent product though.

if i had no experience with either, i'd get serato.

i've only seen an ad for torq, so i have no idea what it's like. If its anything like a first-gen Oxygen 8 then i'd politely decline it.

from what ive seen and heard torq is dope, although what misk said is true, wait a few months m-audio likes to beta test on 'final' products. Ive had serato for a year now and it is SOLID! I have never had a prob, ever. Traktor is dope, Final Scratch is not. for good info on all three go to their respective forums...

Look out for Numark's 'Cue', it might be available for PC already but not for mac. I think it's slightly cheaper as well at around £300.

On a percy, the Serato interface looks the nicest. You can watch and download video demos and tutorials at the website. Well worth a look.

Oh yeah - theres also a way to play pong on serato using the records as controlers. Just in case you need something as a tiebreaker...

ive got serato, and i like to scratch so my opinion is set for now.
torq has many more features at the moment and is half the price.

id suggest givin them both a shot instore if possible...otherwise, pay the extra $$ and hope serato upgrades their software to allow for VST support, etc.
