Makin Dubstep? How and what do u use 2 make that bass?
Recently I hav started writing dubstep............
I use Fruity Loops 4 + soundforge and this enables me to write the drums pretty much to the sound that I want.
However, I'm having difficulty making a decent warbled bass sound..........
Anyone use fruity loops and achieve decent bass sound?
If so what Vsts dou you have attached and how do you make it?
I have pro 52 as a VST, has anyone used this to get decent sounds?
What other Vsts and programmes do other folk reccommend?
I have access to Cubase SX with a1, legacy cell, and Vstation syths - anygood??
Cheers

I don't mean to be short, but if you looked a whole 30cm down the production page you can see a thread asking what you have asked, and the search button also will answer this question which seems to be unearthed every week by the latest member.
As for Vst's
, i use Albino, Z3ta and Absynth to make basslines, i recommend them.

Loefah doesn't use FL, Skream does though, although i doubt he uses it for bass. But the 3 osc plug in is quite a nice synth, its not the instrument its the user, its more likely that you will get better results by knowing one free plug-in soft synth inside out than briefly aquainting yourself with a load of dogs bollocks ones.

absynth 3an4 are pretty grimy once you get around the learning curve.
you can have some fun with the filters just make sure youve added a master filter under the 3 oscillaters then in the envelope section just add new and choose master filter frequency... then resonance when you reach this point for extra depth. i have to say tho its an art. even tho i can make bass and give it some merkyness it still takes a long time to make something new and original. fun watchin everythin in the room shake includin my hair lol...
i would also suggest using propper speakers that can handle the low frequencies cos when i listen back on me head phones i cant really hear the deepest bass at all. hope this helps......

i see... yeah i never really used fruity so that explains why i wouldn't know about it i guess. as far as what i use, im really digging the free synth from FXpansion called Orca. Its really simple but great for subs. Really though, i bought reaktor about 2 years ago so i try to use it whenever possible, and ive gotten some damn great sounds out of some of the synths in it.spooKs wrote:ramadanman wrote:yeh its the basic synth in fruity loops. 3 oscillators, filters, envelopes etc.Misk wrote:ramadanman, are you talking about the one from Reaktor, or some logic synth im unaware of?
it's wicked.
YES!!!!!!!
