The "Wob wob"

Post by Abusive-Daddy » Sun Oct 25, 2009 10:26 am

Okay, using ableton, know how to wobble, but I still can't figure out how to get a deep sound to get that wob effect I love, been playing about with Operator and Simpler but all I can get is a boring wobble, no real depth or filth to it =/

Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

If you mean a garagey "wob" sound like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dN0ouThaD2w

it's done by using a single square wave with a reasonable amount of resonance and a nice low cutoff filter. Set it to re-trigger and you can get a nice wob going on.

I wanted to know how to make this sound for AGES before I figured out, its so simple :D
Out Now:

MRS029 - Connected/Lovin' You

SET003 - Bob Marley - Is This Love (remix) 12"
Echodub Loves Volume 2 - White Room
FTW Records Digital - Panic Room
FTW Free Compilation - Get Up (a.k.a Symphony)

its all about the layering of effects.

reverb, chorus, distortion, delay, flanger, phaser, eq'ing, resampling, and many more.

play around with these in various orders and use them on different frequencies, and ull get some good results.
