a question...

Post by midas » Mon Nov 02, 2009 3:05 am

first a bit about me. all of my elitist dj friends HATE dubstep. so i went along with them though i hadent actually heard dubstep itself. just my friends bullshit opinoins. then i download this dj RRRUUUFFF and listen to his set and this first track he spins just straight up GETS! me. i was listening to that one track on repeat for ever! the track that got me to fall in LOVE with dubstep is 'lucky charms' - a1bassline vs kavs rave - great fucking tracks. that haunting female haunting vocal just gets me. anyway now dubstep is MY music. i listen to it all day everyday.

ive been going wild finding some great dubstep producers, and i have found some really amazing tracks, and im in dubstep heaven. now however i really want to find the names of some great dubstep dj's. i definitely dig the more tech aspect of dub so if you guys could give me some suggestions that would be greatly appreciated. and i cant wait to start meeting with the people on this forum. i dj and i also produce dubstep, and would definitely like to finish this track im working on and float it around here to get some feedbacks. also i do some graphic design, so if any of you would like to get me to make a nice wallpaper or cd cover or whatever im definitely down. is there a way for me to post my art here so people can see my style?

cant wait to start chatting you you guys, and figure out ways that we can work together to advance dubstep. hope to hear from you guys soon. imma go listen to some d.s. right now.

you went along with their opinions, without ever having heard any dubstep?

truth be told many of them are great dj's usually with excellent taste in music. so up until this point they were usually right as far as what rocks and what dosent.
they all fuck with me now though for digging dubstep.

so if thats a bad song to get me into dubstep what would have been a good one?

Don't worry about the haters. If you're digging Dubstep now that's all that matters.

My personal fav producer would probably be Joker, guy has a way with Synths so check him out.

Also if you're looking for dubstep mixes check out my Smoke Sessions series http://www.fadedmusic.blogspot.com

#18 should be out soon but in the mean time you have #1 - 17 to keep you busy.

Enjoy, and Welcome to Dubstep.

if you are into the more techy stuff check 2562,appleblim,shackleton and peverelist.
also make sure you check out the dons like skream,benga,kode9.
if you want soem deep stuff check out loefah and kryptic minds.
then just for amazing stuff check out digital mystikz, mala, coki, joker, darkstar, pangaea, brackles.
that should give you quite a good overview of the music and the you can focus in on the style you enjoy
