drums are pretty decent

bass is ok, but could do with a little bit more definition

whole thing is a bit like a wall of sound - in my opinion it needs more room to breeeeeathe

melody chordy bit gets on my tits in all honesty, especially in the first section

needs less of everything and more reverb and delay!

in my opinon

(it's just an opinion, not the truth)

cheers
like this!

really like this!

subs could be a bit more solid, and the whole thing feels a little bit fuzzy, and (obviously) unfinished, but it's a solid start!

let me know when this tune has developed a bit more :)

my favourite bit is the drop haha
Soundcloud
like the woooOoOOO-waAAaaAh sound in the intro

drop is pretty good... hats shuffling between the kick and snare could be more defined and solid

bleeps and bloops are nice!

feeling this!

maybe mix up the lengths of the sub notes, so there's some longer ones in there to give it a bit more variation

needs a big cracking snare to groove with

maybe more reverb on the bleeps and bloops in places.

i like reverb ;) and delay ;)

with a bit more polish though I reckon I could see this one going down well on the dancefloor... big skankin agwaan

Loving the sounds and the rhythm! Kick and bass sounds are spot on, my personal preference would be for a bit more crack in the snare to really get it bouncing but its sweet as it is. Cool sound design - love the little sub break bit at 1:45.
cool, yeah that snare needs a bit of eq. but aye cheers, the bass sounds are bits of gameboy sounds and samples from mario that i just fucked about with, and whacked a fat sub on, how's the sub sounding to you? i've not got proper monitors or anything
I'm listening through studio headphones, no monitors here either, and its sounding pretty banging, everything pulses along really well. Awesome track
nice one

i reckon layering another snare would help 10000x more than any eqing could

aye yeah i dunno why i said eq, cos the snare right now is on a track with some other drums so it wouldn't work eqing it anyway, but cheers tho, i'll repost finished product soon

Love that bit of pace after the drop, sounds good mate.
I usually get my vocal samples from anywhere and anywhere, they don't even have to be a whole word, I like chopping 'em up loads and just seeing what different sounds come out of the sample.

I'm gonna layer up the kick and snare drum some more, add in a better bassline, also need a rise to introduce the new set of drums and bassline. Should add in some sub bass as well. :)

Hard to comment too much on mixing etc as youtube compression can be a bitch but sounds to me like you need to work on the levels of your drums and wobble a bit better. Check out the gain structure sticky in this forum. Wobble sounds good though!

I downloaded some old female jazz vocal compilation recently. About 20 tracks of jazz tunes with the emphasis on the vocals, been getting loads of nice samples out of there (used it for this tune for instance http://soundcloud.com/j-one/grey-sky). Used to take clips out of loads of Duffy tunes too, as she has such a gorgeous voice, even the smallest clips taken with enough processing would sound sick.

nice one man, the vocals fit perfectly in that tune to give it a nice mellow vibe, im not sure if a female voice would really suit my tune though, atleast a deep low pitch woman if that

Yo guys.. little thing i been working on, don't quite know how to explain it, im goin for like, an electronic lullaby vibe, nuttin too heavy, someting that just ticks along nicely, obviously its not anywhere near finished, actually, about 10 minutes worth if i'm bein honest.. this track don't represent what the the bass droppin in would sound like in the complete track by the way, the clip's just showin the progression of the tune.. enuff babblin..

let me know what u think.. :)

i just came back from partying, so i will feedback later some tracks. right now i would talk just crap

my track:
Soundcloud
sub bass in the intro seems to fluctuate a bit in volume.

when the main drums first come in that sounds nice.

vocal sample has a good feel to it but i can't tell what it's saying - maybe this is the idea though?

squelchy 303 style bass/lead thing is ok, but is quite fast for my idea of dubstep. that's not to say it ain't right, but it's just my opinion... actually i think this is my least favourite part of the track.

drums get a bit wonky, maybe that's what you're after but for me it seems hard to groove to... i love grooving ;)

at about 3:00 after the little breakdown when the drums are more pounding it sounds cool.

do you come from a house/acid/bassline background? tune seems to have that kind of vibe.

to be honest, i was getting a little bored towards the end... there's lots of changes, but... i dunno....

i think it's that 303ish lead sound, just doesn't sit right for me, and the tune feels like it's rushing a bit...

^^ this is just my opinion, everyone likes different music, and nothing I have just said is true. it's just feedback - take it with a fistful of salt!
GOOD to see that someone's really giving it a listen and a real feedback. big up for that one!
i actually come (electronicwise) from a jungle background and have heavy influences from the early reggae days. none of them can be really heard in my track though

actually i had a much better version done just the day after i posted this, and then ableton crashed and i didn't save and i fucked it up by clicking not to reconfigurate the crashed track.

so i lost everything and i'm thrown back to a early stage of the song...

i'm now starting a new one after few days of being pissed of and not being able to do anything

hope that in the next few days i got something up.

thank you anyway for the feedback, will keep them in mind for the future productions.

big up
