Karnival is a new clubnight from the Ruffnek Diskotek crew, which will take place on the first Saturday of every month at The Tube in Bristol. The night is aimed at being a showcase for the fast emerging crossover sounds of UK Funky, Bashment, Dancehall, House and Soca & the influence they are having on electronic dance music at the moment.
Dancing, flag waving, waist winding & horn blowing will be positively encouraged! We want to see bumpers moving inside the club!
For our second installment we are delighted to welcome HARD HOUSE BANTON, producer of the absolute funky anthem, SIRENS (you know the one with sirens in it!) and one of the most exciting producers in the funky scene at the minute. Having recently played at The Heatwaves funky/bashment showcase at Fabric, Banton knows what our dance is all about and is bringing nuff fresh material to gets yor waists winding!
We also welcome MONKEY STEAK, the rowdy duo making ruffnek beats & rude bwoy pop, who are fully on the karnival tip with an arsenal of their own funky & soca beats to mash up our dance. They have recently celebrated the launch of their own Steak House records label & the inclusion of their massive Tigris riddim on Toddla T's Fabric mix. Anyone who saw them smack it at Monster Bass 3 a few weeks back will know the carnage they will bring to the dancefloor!
Finally, Bristol's own karnival master, DUB BOY, rounds off proceedings with his own tasty bag of exclusives.
