An-ten-nae has long been a purveyor of fine exotic beats and low slung crunk.
Acid Crunk Vol 2 started off as a free mixtape that has now been downloaded over 37,000 times. Now, what is Acid Crunk?
It’s a no rules genre bending booty shakin’ synthesis of the dirty dirty that makes that subs in your low rider bump; and it sure goes nicely with that Ice Cream paint job. In the words of Martin Turenne (Straight.com) Acid Crunk “Conjures the druggy textures of early house and the fearsome bass of millennial hip-hop, marrying the West Coast breaks sound with the brooding atmospheres of London's dubstep scene.”

Acid Crunk Vol. 2 kicks off with An-ten-nae’s own low frequency taser, Bang That, he locks in the dance floor with a deep electro groove and then fires up on all cylinders with a flick of the switch. Next up is Ooah (Glitch Mob & PANTyRAiD) From it’s lush start to its acid tinged convulsing basslines, 'Foolish Silence' has devastated every dance floor it’s been dropped on and his live performances have induced pandemonium across the globe, Most recently he appeared on the soundtrack of Tim Burton’s masterpiece film ‘9’. Datsik has virtually dominated the Beatport dubstep charts for months, and here again proves why he is a new standard in audio excellence. With 'Southpaw', Datsik delivers the goods. The other half of PANTyRAiD (aka Marty Party) turns Acid Crunk on its head
with a jackknife of a bass-driven track. Following the current success of the PANTyRAiD album The Sauce, (Marine Parade) Marty ‘s forthcoming album, on the same label, due in January 2010.
From ‘Down Under’, our Australian agent in crunk, Opiuo, adds a little funk with his crunk 'King Prawn'. Look out for his forthcoming EP on Addictech Recordings.
Akira Kiteshi has earned support across the board from the likes of Mixmaster Mike, N-type to Mary Anne Hobbs, with 'Ulysses', this Scotland native delivers his own nasty brand of alien funk infused dubstep from the 31st century.
Head south to Bristol and you’ll find Gemmy, one leg of the 'Purple Trinity' (with Joker and Guido) His newest offering 'Bleep' is some Bristol / Brizzle Bass Crunk guaranteed to turn those head nodders into instant body rockers. For more of his unique brand of crunk, check out his track on Mary Anne Hobbs newest compilation “Planet Mu”.
An-ten-nae returns with a remix of 'Do You' by UK supergroup Freeland (feat. Adam Freeland & Tommy Lee on Drums), he dissects the track into a heaving acid tinged monster sure to make all the ladies squeal.
The next 3 tracks showcase emerging talent from the US and Canada. Apox who hails from Nevada, Colorodo’s own Samples and Ill-Esha & Dewey DB (Vancouver) throwing down tasteful and versatile tracks from the ‘Glitch Hop’ school of crunk.
Collaborations often bring out the best in artists, and 'Pharma Sutra' is a testament to that and this off beat slammer by Filastine (Barcelona) and Ill.Gates (Toronto) will make your jaws drop. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Chillout maestro Bluetech helps bring things down a bit, journeying into thedeeper shades of crunk with 'Waiting For Initiation'.Finally, no global journey into emerging electronic genres should be complete without a stop to Berlin,so we leave you with Robot Koch and his off-kilter beauty of a track 'Hard to Fin', off his upcoming album Deathstar Droid.

Review:
"Don Goliath's "Bagstep EP" (DDR030) is one of those innovative EPs showcasing how versatile Dubstep can get. The unique idea of creating Dubstep versions of celctic (Irish as well as Scottish) folk classics for all you drunkards longing to sing along was Don Goliath's motto when producing this madness. The concept is as simple as effective: he picked 4 of your grandpa's favourites such as "Old Skibbereen", "Scotland the Brave", "Drunken Sailor" and "Amazing Grace" having the melody played by a definitly non-sober Bagpipe section and then layering it with lofi mid range wobbleism - we therefor call it Bagstep. Overall production quality is high grade with that intense sub focus so you can blow-dry your hair right in front of the bass bins. Now let's get into the tunes: "Skibbereen Bagstep" is one of the melancolic minor tunes expressing Irish history as it is. It is an unmixable 3/4 waltz beat at unusual 154bpm, well dancebal though when one moves to the triplets. "Bagstep the brave" should be one of the sickest rebuilds of the Scottish national anthem making it Mel Gibson's signature tune if he had one. "Drunken Bagstep" is a Glitchfest version of the sailors anthem capable of getting you uberdrunk by listening alone, Arrrr! "Amazing Bagstep" is as religious as it gets making it a tune that'll certainly safe xamounts of lost souls.
Enjoying the dancefloor got even easier now: drink out the bar, make your skirt fly and sing along to these (future) classics!
Some will hate this release and some will love it, there barely is anything in between. All Dubstep Division crew salutes the latter as our fellow beerheadz! cheeeeeerz!"

Available TODAY (November 2nd) from Haunted Audio Recordings:

LUTHOR - Cabin Pressure / Some Place

The next excursion into the outer limits of the Dubstep realm......

This duo of “techno-fused” dubstep tracks will trick you into thinking you are about to take a laid-back journey into the late night, but do not be fooled. These are intense peak hour affairs that evolve into full-on dance floor mayhem, making use of familiar techno stabs, swirling vocal samples, undulating rhythms and mechanized yet tribal drum sounds; all which accompany a deep & relentless bass line. Pushing the way forward, Luthor is definitely one to watch when it comes to new directions for Dubstep.

Dryman Sound
Stay With Me / Bombay
-----------------------------
Drum and bass duo Dryman Sounds presents two 8bit flavoured dubstep tracks.
Bombay is positive chillout percussion track whereas Stay With Me is a dark rolling
steppy tune with repetitive bass.

Owntempo Recordings is a Czech Republic based dubstep/grime label focused on releasing interesting material from
Czech and Slovak producers. We believe that dubstep should still keep its experimental side therefore we try to
fuse it with techno, hip hop and experimental electronic music.

FULL SPEKTRUM - Puzzlebox EP - (UK Trends) - UKTRNDZ 004

1. Puzzlebox
2. Ten Past Midnight
3. Blast From The Past
4. Step 2 The Millenium
5. Shadow Weaver
6. The Way E-A

The forth release on UK TRENDS is a 6 track EP from Full Spektrum.

2009 has been a huge year for Full Spektrum with a string of releases on a number of forward thinking labels and UK Trends is proud to be releasing his biggest EP yet with 6 tracks of bass music routed in the rich sounds of genres past whilst still looking towards the future. The EP takes influence from 2step, rave, jungle, 4x4 and weaves these elements together into a unique mix of dancefloor beats full of energy and melody.

Step 2 the Millennium attacks the sounds of UKG and pumps out the swung beats and female vocals to glitched out, bass destroying effect whilst The Way E-A is a 4x4 rave anthem for the 21st century. Blast from the Past takes the hardcore jungle vibes of 1994 and turns them into a polished, halfstep, beat driven track and Puzzlebox and Ten Past Midnight create a unique sound laying down new formulas to be copied and repeated well after this time in the ‘nuum has past.

A huge release with variety, complexity and intelligent dancefloor beats

ALR-040: The Higher EP - Mindelixir

Release Date: 11.09.2009

Genre: Dubstep

About This Release:

The Higher EP marks Mindelixir’s second release on ALR. Side A. is a
collab/ dubstep remix of the Beautiful Small Machines tune “Simple

one to go to the masses. You all owe him a thank you note for this

release. Side C. “Futurism” is another banger that further cements
Mindelixir’s signature style and sound in this ever changing genre.
