Atmosphere

Anyone else into Atmosphere or anyone running in those circles?

Slug is extremely an intensely deep and emotional MC and the production is some of my favorite in hip hop.

I've never heard anyone mention them on here before though

Slug is sick, hated by many though. Guy can come up with great concepts for songs. Ant = hands down.

god loves ugly was a great album but i've grown tired of atmosphere, mostly due to their beats

atmosphere is probably one of my favorite artists right now. i've just gotten into dubstep and i would lose my shit if someone mixed in some of slugs lyrics.

my friends who introduced me to underground electronic, dubstep, etc have a some experience making music and so do i, so i'm thinking about trying to mix in some of this song:

it's called musical chairs, most of the lyrics could sound pretty rad, but slugs beatboxing at the end could sound so sick with some heavier bass. it's got a little beat thrown in but there could totally be more.

Slug is a decent emcee, great flow and lyrics, but I've never really enjoyed the Atmosphere stuff, it's all a bit too emo at times. His guest appearences on other artists songs and his work with lots of anticon artists are really good though.

i liked lucy ford but completely went off them with god loves ugly, found the lyrics really tedious, and the beats were bobbins. also got slug "freestyling" on a vid somewhere and he was bobbins at that too.

damn regional diction!!

Bobbins. Noun. Rubbish, nonsense, useless. Manchester rhyming slang for rotten, from bobbins of cotton. E.g."That meal was bobbins, next time we'll eat at home."

Atmosphere's older shit (lucy ford, overcast, god loves ugly) is dope, the more recent shit im not as into but my tastes have evolved over the years. its been 6 years since i was heavy into their stuff. Slug is a real creative mc, created his own lane and is a true artist. i liked ant a lot better before i started producing, now it just seems over simplistic. his sound is real clean but i like heavy grimey shit. thats just how we do it on the east coast.

Have you heard FELT?

It's Slug and Murs on the mic and Aesop Rock making beats. Reports of Possible Kidnappings is an amazing song, and Ace's beats are surprisingly fresh.
