domu quits doing music

Post by seckle » Sun Nov 15, 2009 12:19 am

quite a statement as well. thanks for the music. this guy goes back to reinforced days. across several genres of beats. a real loss.

Amazing leaving note, very touching and sad that someone who so obviously was not in music for the money has become so disenchanted with it all :(

Damn...Domu's one of my favorite musicians of the past decade. Sonar Circle was one of my biggest inspirations in dnb, and his brokenbeat stuff is what I've been aspiring to reach with my dubstep.

Wow. Real interesting and fully sensical I guess. Considering the length and depth of his explanation it prolly slightly lazy to just claim it's a "midlife crisis type thing" innit. Like he said a break might serve it's purpose but the enviroment in which he has to "sacrificially" perform/work his hustle is not worth it financially or for the pure love of it either. Music can be in your soul forever but if u start chipping away at wot gives u that soul then that ain't cool but just bullshityo! :u:

A very sad day in music. I hope the break help reignite his fire. Awesome producer.

I grew up in the same town as Dom .,.. He used to skool me somewhat when i was a young lad trying to make heads or tails of this production malarky ... he is a actual legend ... his reinforced releases where immense as Sonar circle, along with a absolute monster profile .. this guy was makin soundtracks for manga films like the best part of 10 years ago .... siik.. as a long time friend of dom's i can safely say ye .. this guy was dishartened by all the bullshit surrounding the scene ..he always used to say....and that this guy is!!! an out and out beet maker ... purely for the love .... and it is a damn shame he's announced this ... buuuuut ... i dont think domu will quite be able to let it go .. not totally.. :p..

wow that was deep. def doesn't feel like the cynical 'retirements' that some people announce for publicity.

that comment someone made about the 'endless revolving doors of social networking sites' was very on point. Warhol would not believe the madness of instant celebrity that we have right now.

Never been particularly aware of his music but massive respect for bowing out with dignity. Plenty could learn a thing or 2 about that.
