TO ALL NOOBS SUCH AS MYSELF
Just though I'd let the noobs (like me) out there know that their is a special edition of Computer Music out titled 'Making SYnth Music', if you're like me and have little experience in this sound design shizzle then I'd defo recomend getting it, explains all the basics of oscillators/filters/envelopes ect, what they do & how to use them. It's pretty basic but it really helps clear things up + it comes with a phat amount of free synths & demos some of which don't sound too shabby at all.
Safe.

Yeah, I don't much about how synths work but I think there are areas they could have explained better ect, decent guide for beginners though.

Always the case with Computer Music. When i first started buying it i thought it was great, because i really didnt know shit.
But even in the cover features they dont explain enough, and often the mag is just going round in circles

Re: TO ALL NOOBS SUCH AS MYSELF
yeah, I agree, they seem pretty clueless at points to, the dubstep bass patch is fucking terrible, sounds more like a dnb divebomb than anything. Wish MusicTech mag would have a go at some of the features in CM, been reading that over the last few weeks and they tend to go into much more detail. Again it's just more of beginners thing explain basic concepts ect.

Computer Music is consistently good for new producers. Good reviews in there though

Re: TO ALL NOOBS SUCH AS MYSELF
Every issue of CM has at least one thing I haven't learned in it. That + all the shit on the DVD makes it worth it imho.
