interested in being part of a competition with a prize?

Hey folks. Im pretty new to this forum, but i had an idea. Would you guys be interested in taking part in a dubstepforum only competition? basically it would work like this:

i will provide a small loop pack, of different loops that i personally create. you must use ALL of the loops (not in their entirety, you can cut and chop them as you please, but you must use at least part of all of the loops provided)

anyways, you would create a dubstep track, it would be a minimum of 4 minutes long, and it must be an original work, meaning you cant just take the loops and throw them into a song you already have.

you would then host your songs, and provide a link to your song via PM or other personal means of contact. it would be one song per entrant only.

after the deadline (which would be announced at the beginning of the competition) public voting will take place, all of the songs will be listed in a thread, the artist name wouldnt be given, just the title of the track.

members of the forum would vote on their favorite two tracks. after the voting deadline, the track with the most votes will be chosen as winner, and will receive the prize.

the prize i would be offering for my first competition would be i will upgrade your myspace page for free. you can see some of the pages i've done by checking out my page: www.myspace.com/phraktol scroll down and you'll see an area with a couple of small banners which you can click on to see the page.

usually i charge between $100-200 for this service, so although its not monetary compensation, it's still fairly valuable.

for those musicians that dont have a myspace, i would be willing to do other graphics up the the same value amount.

Anyways, what would you guys think? would you be interested in taking part? and to the forum mods and owners, would you be okay with me hosting this competition?

Let me know your thoughts, i would really like to do this if there is enough interest.

no it's different in the fact that I'm holding the competition myself, and I'm offering a prize which i will provide.

if ur not interested though, that's fine, ill host it elsewhere. im just offering to do something fun for people and offer something as a prize.

thanks for the replies. @hangmandubstep: i wouldnt require that you use any of the provided loops as the main point in your song at all. they would be provided simply as additives. it's likely i would only provide a handful of loops, something like some nice ambient/spacial pads, a short melody, a drumloop or 2, and a single wobble. and like i said, i wouldnt be expecting these to be at all the main part of your song.

for all i care, you could use a quick snippet of each at one point or another.

the main reason i would include the loops is for a sense of challenge, and so that i can see that it is an original composition (obviously there's no way to TRULY tell, but i would hope people would just create an original)

anyways, if i get enough people saying they are interested on the forums here, i'll do this contest strictly for this forum. if not, ill probably privately host the contest and just advertise it in different areas.

either way, i'm going to do it, im just trying to figure out the best method.
