I really like this track but rekon you could make it way better
Few comments:
- That bass work is *sick* .. really contained and solid. dont change a thing.
- Drum programming is refreshingly free-form but it loses its way a little too much and never really kicks up any particularly nice breaks or nice rhythmic dialogue to get excited by. That snare would really benefit from some variation either with other snare samples or simply just some velocity/pitch/EQ/Effect modulation in places.
- Singing gets a little oppressive over the track, feel you could have taken more control over it. Its really strong in some places but a little annoyingly dominant in others. Think about how this vocal 'sits' in your mix, maybe experiment a little more with its placement and treatment.
- The arrangement isnt very exciting, it never really leaves level 1 and then eventually just fades out.. an absolute *cardinal* sin in my book. You have an intro, why not take the time to cunstruct an outro.
Take it or leave it though mate, hopefully something in there is useful. Cheers.
** EDIT: incidentally mate.. just checked 'Hope & Dread' on your myspace.. SERIOUSLY heavy track .. loved it. Got a 320 of that one i can have pls ? **

ekstrak,
thanks for the proper feedback! i'm going to work with the drum programming more, it's a bit boring... i'm going to try modulating the snare more, perhaps adding some different samples. as well i want to try some other sounds to create more rhythmic movement. i need to think a bit more about the arrangement. as well, i want to play with the placement of the vocals. the vocals are meant to be more dominant as i'm visioning this as a classical indian piece first, and with the dubstep treatment second. you know, a bit different than using samples of ethnic vocals here and there. the classical purists in india are enjoying this one, which is a good thing and a bit of a bridge between worlds. i will send you a 320 of the other track by "you send it." message me your e-mail address and i'll get it to you...
