i quite like this track. its got a skream type feel to it. it stays interesting throughout its entirety. the flutey melody is my favorite part and i like the detuning done as a variation. its got a great halfstep minimal vibe without getting boring. the 8 bit video game comparisons are right on and i like that sound. excellent arrangement! id like a 320 of this when its done if youre givin em out, pls.

i like the feel and the rythmatics that start around 0:40, the melody is nice aswell and fits the overall vibe great aswell. imo you should work on variation and the breakdown seems a bit dull.
but overall a pretty promising first track!

dunno wots happened but cant open the Reason file anymore since reformatting my PC.
everything works fine apart from tunes that contain this one sample..

"Cannot load song

The song cannot be loaded because the sample "FOAMY-SNARE-3" used in this song seems to be damaged and could not be loaded"

dunno wot it is.. the sample is placed in a different folder now, so it should just open the Reason song.. but just with the missing sample

tune may be lost forever if i cant sort it
:x

yo cool tune man, it's hard getting a decent sound out of reason so nice one. sorry to hear about the sample locating problems, what a pain in the arse. if you do find it, maybe bring the shakers out a bit and add a little more percussion in general, both these would bring out the skank on a system when the horns come in. maybe some more fills at the 16/32 bar turnarounds as well. if you don't find it i wouldn't worry too much, i find tunes only really improve the more experience you get so it's all about moving on! i got a coupla dubstep tunes up on myspace if you're interested...safe

yeah, dont you primarily use reason, parson?

i dont like it, personally, but thats more an interface thing than a sonic thing.

yeah maybe i was a bit hasty, i only used reason 2 or 2.5 (can't remember) before i moved to logic, and i've heard good things about 3. also the reason sound seems to suit dubstep as the basic sounds are quite gritty (judging from money in my socks!) I just reckon logic produces cleaner sounds and has better synths and plugins...

cheers for the comments...

Parson, how could i load it with a different snare? the song doesnt open at all... normally if it cant find a sample, itll load the song anyway without it, but this time it doesnt open at all.. is there a way i can delete the sample like opening the song file in notepad or summin? :S

Who else uses reason primarily?
i been getting into Ableton recently, quite like it, but i got a shitty 192 RAM laptop so just cant handle it lol :? saving up for a new PC

yeah, reason kicks ass man, i learned on it, but it just doesnt work for me, because i like to fuck with raw audio. and really, you can use anything to make anything planas, reason can sound nice n clean, as well as gritty, so can logic.

fuck i could make an amazing, evolving pad, from a bunch of subtractors and the nnxt if i wanted.

i could make pads with a fuckin mouth harp, washboard, mic and a sampler :6:

big up the "doing whatever the fuck works" crew.

EDIT: ill make something in reason, then take the samples away to see if i can fix it foamo, just for shits. :)

i thought this was a production help forum not a production competition, i just heard your tunes Misk and i'm not really into that sound, so i guess we're at cross purposes here (nothing personal!!) good luck with your beats tho, seems like you know what you're doing
